In the title compound, {[Ag(C6H8N2)(H2O)](C6H4Cl2NO3S)} n , the AgI ion is three-coordinated by two N atoms from two symmetry-related 2,3-dimethylpyrazine (dmp) ligands, and one water O atom in a distorted trigonal–planar geometry. The dmp ligands bridge AgI ions to form a one-dimensional chain structure with charge-balancing 4-amino-2,5-dichlorobenzenesulfonate anions. In the crystal structure, intermolecular O—H...O and N—H...O hydrogen bonds form a two-dimensional network.

Four novel coordination polymers (CPs) assembled with [2,2′-bifuran]-5,5′-dicarboxylic acid (H2L) and metal ions ZnII, CdIIor CoIIhave been successfully synthesized. Their molecular structures have been determined to be Zn(L)(H2O)2(1), [Zn(L)(DMF)]2(2), [Cd(L)(EtOH)(DMF)2]2(3) and Co(L)(H2O)4·(H2O)2(4) by crystallographic analysis. It is found that (2) exhibits a two-dimensional infinite framework, whereas the others exhibit a one-dimensional framework. Both (2) and (3) exhibit ligand-based emission which is blue-shifted compared with the emission from the H2Lligand. Time-resolved spectroscopic measurement reveals that the complexes exhibit a similar lifetime with that of the ligand, which confirms that the emission of the complexes originates from the ligand.

Two carboxylate-bridged one-dimensional chain complexes, {[MnII(MeOH)2][FeIII(L)2]2}n (1) and {[MnII(DMF)2][MnIII(L)2]2·DMF}n (2) [H2L = ((2-carboxyphenyl)azo)-benzaldoxime], containing a low-spin [FeIII(L)2]− or [MnIII(L)2]− unit were synthesized. Magnetic measurements show that the adjacent high-spin MnII and low-spin MIII ions display weak antiferromagnetic coupling via the syn–anti carboxyl bridges, with J = −0.066(2) cm−1 for complex 1 and J = −0.274(2) cm−1 for complex 2.

In the crystal structure of the title compound, C12H14N4O3, the dihedral angle between the phenyl and imidazole rings is 76.55 (7)°. The nitrite O atoms of the (E)-2-nitriminoimidazolidin-1-yl group act as the acceptors of three N—H...O hydrogen bonds from the N atom of the imidazole ring, resulting in a one-dimensional chain. C—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions are also observed in this complex, extending the structure into a two-dimensional supramolecular sheet.
