The crystal structures are reported for three heterometallic Ni2Ln and a Ni2Dy2 complex, using the Schiff base ligand 2-methoxy-6-[(E)-phenyliminomethyl] phenol. Detailed dc and ac magnetic susceptibility studies were reported for all the complexes. The complexes 3 and 4 shows frequency dependent out-of-phase susceptibility signals.

Five heterometallic Cu2Ln complexes (Ln = Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho and Er) have been synthesized using asymmetric Schiff base ligand. Among these, Cu2Tb and Cu2Dy complexes show field induced SMM behaviour.

We have synthesized a series of transition metal compounds [M(L)2(H2O)2] (M = Co (1), Ni (2), and Cu (3)) by using the 4-amino-1,2,4-triazole Schiff-base ligand via the hydrothermal methods.
