The aim of this study was to determine the influence of photo-irradiation and pH on the mobilization of metals from a complex sulfide ore concentrate containing known semiconductors (PbS, ZnS, CdS, FeS2, and CuFeS2). The mobilization of Zn, Fe, and Cd increased under illumination, which is attributed to the semiconductor nature of ZnS, FeS2, and CdS, respectively. An increase in mobilization of Zn, Fe, and Cd under light is observed with decreasing pH, because of increased surface protonation and the greater oxidizing property of photoholes. The semiconductor nature of PbS and CuFeS2 is observed at pH 2. However, at higher pH the concentrations of mobilized Pb and Cu are greater in darkness than under illumination. This is attributed to the light enhanced exchange reactions involving dissolved Pb and Cu with metal sulfides more soluble than PbS and CuS.

A Mo middling has been obtained through Cu-Mo bulk flotation. In order to further enrich molybdenite and separate pyrite form this middling. A series flotation tests were conducted to concentrate Mo. Important parameters including regrinding fineness, CaO dosage and cleaning flotation stages were optimized to enhance Mo enrichment. In addition, a close-circuit flotation test was conducted under optimum parameters and a Mo concentrate with 22.92% of Mo grade and 93.75% of Mo recovery was obtained, which satisfied the plant requirement.

Thermal expansion coefficients of metal sulfides and their alloys are important for technological processes calculations of sulfide processing materials, for example, the crystallization equipment of nickel and copper-nickel converter matte. The synthesized copper and nickel monosulfide, and nickel and copper-nickel matte have been used as the initial samples. Dilatometric analysis was carried out by dilatometer (Linseis L78 RITA). Differences in the values measured are accounted for by the synthesis samples facilities, the coexistence of several non-stoichiometric sulfide phases and interaction during heating. In the temperature 20-500°C range the coefficients of thermal expansion (α) for the sulfides of copper, nickel and their alloys are changed from 10.4 to 20.610-6 1/K. Changes in the value α are accounted for by phase transitions in sulfide samples at their heating. Considering the properties of the phase components are an additive it is shown the thermal expansion coefficient complex sulfide-metal alloys is possible to calculate.
