This study evaluated the effects of untreated pig slurry on the general health of thefish communities in the lower Vaal area by using the Fish Health Assessment Index (FHAI)together with morphological biomarkers such as Gonad Mass Index (GMI), Hepato-SomaticIndex (HSI), the Condition factor (Cf) and microbial activity.
