Abstract All papers published in this volume of IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science have been peer reviewed through processes administered by the Editors. Reviews were conducted by expert referees to the professional and scientific standards expected of a proceedings journal published by IOP Publishing. • Type of peer review: Single-anonymous: authors’ identities are known to the reviewers; reviewers’ identities are hidden from authors. • Conference submission management system: The paper submission management system is carried out online via the https://ocs.usu.ac.id/ICONART/iconart2021 page. The author must register first and then log in to upload the manuscript via that page. • Number of submissions received: The total number of submissions was 136 papers. • Number of submissions sent for review: For reviewing processes, only 106 papers (77.9%) were reviewed and the rest (30 papers) were rejected because of the low quality. • Number of submissions accepted: The number of accepted papers was 106 • Acceptance Rate (Number of Submissions Accepted/Number of Submissions Received X 100): The Acceptance Rate was 77.9% • Average number of reviews per paper: The average number of reviews is two revisions per paper • Total number of reviewers involved: The total number of reviewers involved was 17 reviewers, consisted of experts, professionals, and scientific committees who fulfil expected standards of a proceedings journal published by IOP Publishing. • Any additional info on review process: The criteria in accepting papers were based on conference topic suitability, data precision, systematics of English writing, and similarity check results using Turnitin (less than 25%). • Contact person for queries: Name : Prof. Mohammad Basyuni, Ph.D Affiliation: Universitas Sumatera Utara Email : [email protected]/[email protected]

Several essential things in scientific articles are reviewed through this evaluation aspect, such as novelty, originality, clarity of methods and analysis, and their significance in science and technology. If an evaluation aspect has less than good quality, the reviewer provides suggestions for improvement, and the author must improve it or provide feedback.
