We have studied the effect of the Andreev reflection on the persistent currents in a normal metallic loop connected with a normal metal and a superconductor. It consist of two parts, one contributed by electrons and one by holes. They are periodic with a period equal to a single flux quantum, ϕ0, versus the threading magnetic flux and π versus the length of the lead bridging between the loop and the superconductor. They have sharp peaks at the gap edge. Both the sum of persistent currents and the electronic part increase to a same constant, but the hole part decreases to zero with the barrier strength rising to infinity.
