The asymmetric unit of the title complex, {[Mn(C20H10Br2N3O5)(H2O)]·(CH3)2NCHO}n, consists of one MnIIIion, one (E)-5-bromo-N-[2-(5-bromo-2-oxidobenzylideneamino)-4-nitrophenyl]-2-oxidobenzamidate ligand (Schiff base), one water molecule and anN,N-dimethylformamide molecule. The coordination geometry around the MnIIIion is a distorted octahedron, being surrounded by two O and two N atoms from the Schiff base, which are positioned in the equatorial plane. The water molecule and the O atom of the carbonyl group from the adjacent MnIIIcomplex are situated at the axial positions, leading to a polymeric chain along thecaxis. In the crystal, the complex andN,N-dimethylformamide molecules are connectedviaO—H...O, C—H...O and C—H...Br hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

In the mononuclear title complex, [HgCl2(C20H21N3)], synthesized from the quinoline-derived Schiff baseN1,N1-diethyl-N4-(quinolin-2-ylmethylidene)benzene-1,4-diamine (QMBD), the coordination geometry around the Hg2+atom is distorted tetrahedral, comprising two Cl atoms [Hg—Cl = 2.3654 (19) and 2.4394 (18) Å] and two N-atom donors from the QMBD ligand, viz.one imine and quinoline [Hg—N = 2.334 (5) and 2.340 (5) Å, respectively]. In the crystal, weak C—H...Cl hydrogen bonds and weak π–π aromatic ring stacking interactions [minimum ring-centroid separation = 3.680 (4) Å] give an overall three-dimensional network.

The asymmetric unit of the title inorganic–organic hybrid compound, (C10H16N2O)[CoCl4]·H2O, consists of a tetrahedral [CoCl4]2−anion, together with a [C10H18N2O]2+cation and a water molecule. Crystal cohesion is achieved through N—H...Cl, O—H...Cl and N—H...O hydrogen bonds between organic cations, inorganic anions and the water molecules, building up a three-dimensional network.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 2,4,6-triamino-1,3,5-triazin-1-ium cyanoacetate monohydrate, C3H7N6 +·NCCH2COO−·H2O, consists of a melaminium cation, a cyanoacetate anion and a water molecule, which are connected to each other via N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds, generating an eight-membered ring. In the crystal, the melaminium cations are connected by two pairs of N—H...N hydrogen bonds, forming tapes along [110]. These tapes develop a three-dimensional network through N—H...O, O—H...O, N—H...N and C—H...O hydrogen bonds between the cations, anions and water molecules.

In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Sn(C42H26N6)(C7H5O2)2], the SnIV ion is located on a crystallographic inversion centre and is octahedrally coordinated with an N4O2 set. Four N atoms of the porphyrin ring form the equatorial plane while the axial positions are occupied by two O atoms from benzoate anions. The molecular packing of the title complex involves non-classical hydrogen bonds of the types C—H...O and C—H...N, leading to a three-dimensional network structure.

The structure of the dinuclear title complex, [Cu2(C10H8N7)2(NO3)2(H2O)2]·2H2O, consists of centrosymmetric dimeric units with a copper–copper separation of 4.0408 (3) Å. The CuIIions in the dimer display a distorted octahedral coordination geometry and are bridged by two triazole rings, forming an approximately planar Cu2N4core (r.m.s. deviation = 0.049 Å). In the crystal, O—H...O, O—H...N and C—H...O hydrogen bonds and π–π interactions link the molecules into a three-dimensional network.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C15H15N3O3·0.5H2O, comprises two 2-{[(4-iminiumyl-3-methyl-1,4-dihydropyridin-1-yl)methyl]carbamoyl}benzoate zwitterions (AandB) and a water molecule. The dihedral angles between the pyridine and phenyl rings in the zwitterions are 53.69 (10) and 73.56 (11)° inAandB, respectively. In the crystal, molecules are linked by N—H...O, O—H...O, C—H...O and C—H...π(ring) hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network. The crystal structure also features π–π interactions involving the centroids of the pyridine and phenyl rings [centroid–centroid distances = 3.5618 (12) Å inAand 3.8182 (14) Å inB].

The mononuclear title complex, [Mo(C9H9NO2)O2(H2O)], contains an Mo(VI) atom in a distorted octahedral coordination sphere defined by an Mo=O and an Mo—(OH2) bond to the axial ligands and two Mo—O bonds to phenolate and alcoholate O atoms, another Mo=O bond and one Mo—N bond to the imino N atom in the equatorial plane. The five-membered metalla-ring shows an envelope conformation. In the crystal, individual molecules are connected into a layered arrangement parallel to (100) by means of O—H...O hydrogen bonds involving the water molecule as a donor group and the O atoms of neighbouring complexes as acceptor atoms. These interactions lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C10H9N2 2+·2C6H4FN2O4 −·2H2O, consists of one half of the (E)-4,4′-ethylenedipyridinium cation, one [(5-fluoro-2,4-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidin-4-yl)acetamido]acetate anion and one water molecule, the complete formula unit being generated by a crystallographic inversion centre at the mid-point of the central C=C bond of the (E)-4,4′-ethylenedipyridinium cation. In the crystal structure, a three-dimensional network is formed via N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds.

2,5-Bis(pyridin-2-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole (denotedL) has been found to act as a bidentate ligand in the monomeric title complex, [Cu(CF3O3S)(C12H8N4S)2(H2O)](CF3O3S). The complex shows a distorted octahedrally coordinated copper(II) cation which is linked to two thiadiazole ligands, one water molecule and one trifluoromethanesulfonate anion. The second trifluoromethanesulfonate anion does not coordinate the copper(II) cation. Each thiadiazole ligand uses one pyridyl and one thiadiazole N atom for the coordination of copper. The N atom of the second non-coordinating pyridyl substituent is found on the same side of the 1,3,4-thiadiazole ring as the S atom. The trifluoromethanesulfonate ions are involved in a three-dimensional network of O—H...O hydrogen bonds. C—H...N interactions also occur.

The asymmetric unit of the polymeric title compound, [Ni(C8H4O4)(C10H14N4)(H2O)]n, contains one Ni2+cation, one coordinating water molecule, one 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethyl-4,4′-bipyrazole ligand and half each of two benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate anions, the other halves being generated by inversion symmetry. The Ni2+cation exhibits an octahedral N2O4coordination sphere defined by the O atoms of the water molecule and two different anions and the N atoms of two symmetry-relatedN-heterocycles. TheN-heterocycles and both anions bridge adjacent Ni2+cations into a three-dimensional network structure, with one of the anions in a bis-bidentate and the other in a bis-monodentate bridging mode. N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds between the N-heterocycles and water molecules as donor groups and the carboxylate O atoms as acceptor groups consolidate the crystal packing.
