Globular indexing CAM mechanism is a good indexing mechanism. As the working curve of CAM contour surface is no extending curved surface, there is certain difficulty to design processing. It is new kinds of design method that reverse engineering apply in rapid modeling of curved CAM. In this way, designer can complete curve of CAM reverse modeling, and the rationality of the model is verified. At the same time, it also can reverse modeling and the subsequent development of other products to provide a reference.

This paper introduced a new design method for mechanical and electrical products,for example electric drill handle. By using Geomagic Studio Software, the cloud data about scanning electric drill was preprocessed, the three-dimension surface was reconfigured according to the preprocessed data, the surface reconstruction file was imported into UG Software for substantialization. Finally, the model was improved and optimized according to individual customer needs. Key words: Electric drill handle, Reverse engineering, Individual design
