An efficient storage strategy for retail e-commerce warehousing is important for minimizing the order retrieval time to improve the warehouse-output efficiency. In this paper, we consider a model and algorithm to solve the cargo location problem in a retail e-commerce warehouse. The problem is abstracted into storing cargo on three-dimensional shelves, and the mathematical model is built considering three objectives: efficiency, stability, and classification. An artificial swarm algorithm is designed to solve the proposed models. Computational experiments performed on a warehouse show that the proposed approach is effective at solving the cargo location assignment problem and is significant for the operation and organization of a retail e-commerce warehouse.

With the rapid development of aerospace industries, how to realize the automatic and optimized pipe-routing layout for the aero-engine has become a hot issue to be urgently solved. For the issue, a novel automatic and optimized pipe-routing layout method based on the improved artificial fish swarm algorithm was put forward in this paper. First, the mathematical model of the pipe-routing layout problem was established. Then, in view of the deficiencies of the artificial fish swarm algorithm,chaos mutation was used to carry out easy and rapid searching as well as robust escape from the local optimum,and gradient setting was used to raise the convergence speed and the solving accuracy.Further, the improved artificial fish swarm algorithm was applied to the pipe-routing layout for the aero-engine. At the end, the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method was proved by a case study.

A new approach to solving weapon-target assignment (WTA) problem is proposed in this paper. Firstly, relative superiority that lays the foundation for assignment is calculated based on the combat power energy of the fighters. Based on the relative superiority, WTA problem is formulated. Afterwards, a hybrid algorithm consisting of improved artificial fish swarm algorithm (AFSA) and improved harmony search (HS) is introduced and furthermore applied to solve the assignment formulation. Finally, the proposed approach is validated by eight representative benchmark functions and two concrete cooperative air combat examples. The results show that the approach proposed in this paper achieves good performances in solving WTA problem in cooperative air combat.
