A new species of aphanodactylid genusAnkeriusNg, Rahayu & Shih, 2016, is described from Iriomote Island, Ryukyu Islands, Japan.Ankerius grusocuraren. sp. is distinct from the only congener,A. aenigmaticus, by the shape of the lateral corner of the front (= supraorbital tooth), proportionally wider carapace, and the fewer number of the teeth along the upperflexor margin of the ambulatory meri. The present study brings the number of aphanodactylid taxa to 13 species.

A new alpheid shrimp species, provisionally assigned to the genus Salmoneus Holthuis, 1955, is described and illustrated on the basis of three specimens extracted from intertidal soft sediments on seagrass beds at Iriomote Island, southern Ryukyu Islands, Japan. Salmoneus singularis n. sp. is highly distinctive within the genus in having a pair of postorbital spines on the carapace, otherwise showing some affinities to the species of the S. gracilipes Miya, 1972 group. The possession of paired spines on the dorsolateral surface of the carapace is shared with several members of Triacanthoneus Anker, 2010, which is undoubtedly closely related to Salmoneus. However, the new species cannot be placed in Triacanthoneus because of the absence of a mid-dorsal spine on the carapace.

We describe Expanathura monile sp. nov. from Iriomote Island, Okinawa, Japan, northwestern Pacific. This species resembles E. collaris, E. macronesia, and E. haddae in having very broad uropodal rami, a broad telson, and a moderately shortened pleopod 1 endopod, but differs from these three species in the female having (1) the head with a dorsal V-shaped band of brown pigmentation, (2) the antennular flagellum with 3–4 articles, (3) antennal peduncular article 2 with an outer triangular projection, (4) the uropodal endopod longer than wide, (5) the uropodal exopod with an acute triangular projection, (6) an oval telson, and (7) the posterolateral setae on the telson similar in length. We present a revised key to known species in the genus Expanathura and briefly discuss the male polymorphism observed in E. monile.

A new species of the rare caridean genus Bresilia Calman, 1896, B. cinctus, is described and illustrated on the basis of a single ovigerous female specimen collected from Sagami Bay, central Japan, at 218–318 m depth. The new species is morphologically most similar to B. rufioculus Komai & Yamada, 2011, known only from shallow water cave of Ie Island (depths 14–17 m), Okinawa Islands, Ryukyu Islands, but many characters, including the proportionally shorter rostrum, the well developed suborbital lobe of the carapace, and the presence of a spiniform seta on the ventral surface of the pereopod 1 palm, immediately distinguish the new species from B. rufioculus. Bresilia cinctus n. sp. is the first species of the genus known from the Japanese main islands. The discovery of the new species led us to reassess the merit of the informal division of Bresilia proposed by Komai & Yamada (2010). An identification key to the ten named species of Bresilia is presented.
