Transient synovitis of the hip and Legg-Calve-Perthes (LCP) disease are the commonest causes of painful hip in young children. While the prognosis for transient synovitis is generally good, the experience with this series of patients indicates that LCP disease may be antedated by a stage of synovitis indistinguishable from transient, self-limiting synovitis. Since the prognosis for LCP disease is drastically different from that of transient synovitis, early differential diagnosis is essential. To this end closer observation of children with transient synovitis is warranted.

The aim of the work was to determine the information content of the figures in the differential diagnosis of migraine and non-migraine headache in children. The need for such a study is dictated by the fact that young children usually cannot accurately characterize headaches, and this makes it difficult to correctly diagnose.

Functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract in young children are the most difficult and insufficiently studied issues of clinical medicine. So far, such relevant issues as the mechanism of regurgitation and vomiting, the origin of pylorostenosis and dyskinetic disorders of the small intestine have not been elucidated. Unified methods of diagnosis and differential diagnosis of both functional and organic changes of the gastrointestinal tract, especially in children in the first days of life, have not been developed.

Ureterocele is a cystic dilatation of submucosal distal ureter. It presents a higher incidence in infants and young children but is rare in adults. The urethral prolapse of ureterocele is extremely rare, and its clinical presentation includes vulvar mass, hematuria, and urinary tract dysfunction. We present a case of ureterocele prolapse in a 45-year-old woman who has a 3-day-evolution vulvar mass and intense urethral bleeding. The patient underwent armed cystoscopy and ureteroscopy, ureterocele resection, and biopsy. She evolved with good postoperative condition and was then discharged.

This is a case of a two-year-old boy with a ganglion arising from the sternoclavicular joint. Ganglia are rare in the pediatric population, with less than 2% occurring under the age of 2 years old. Additionally, sternoclavicular joint ganglia are also exceedingly rare. The case illustrates the importance of keeping ganglion within the differential diagnosis for palpable subcutaneous masses, even in young children, especially when they are seen to connect to the joint.
