Two sex-linked mutations in the flour beetle, Tribolium confusum, are described. Depressed (dep), an elytral mutant, and a new allele of red (ru) are located about 3 map units apart. The ru allele is recessive to r. The acquisition of these mutants, particularly ru, should make the establishment of linkage relationships among sex-linked genes in this species considerably easier than it has been in the past.
