This dictionary uncovers the meanings of myriad phrases and sayings that are used daily in the English language, encompassing more than 10,000 figurative expressions, similes, sayings, and proverbs. ABSTRACTThe thematic index consists of 18 themes, contains authors' names in chronological order by issue (and in the order of appearance in the issue in question), together with the titles of their articles and reviews, and subtitles and explanatory matter as appropriate. The entries may be checked against those in the chronological index (p. 61), by means of the shared issue numbers.
