Pyrazole has been recognized as a pharmacologically important privileged scaffold whose derivatives produce almost all types of pharmacological activities and have attracted much attention in the last decades. Of the various pyrazole derivatives reported as potential therapeutic agents, this article focuses on pyrazole-based kinase inhibitors. Pyrazole-possessing kinase inhibitors play a crucial role in various disease areas, especially in many cancer types such as lymphoma, breast cancer, melanoma, cervical cancer, and others in addition to inflammation and neurodegenerative disorders. In this article, we reviewed the structural and biological characteristics of the pyrazole derivatives recently reported as kinase inhibitors and classified them according to their target kinases in a chronological order. We reviewed the reports including pyrazole derivatives as kinase inhibitors published during the past decade (2011–2020).

Abstract The Robert Harper Festschrift includes articles by three of Bob’s students and colleagues—Karl Crary, Andrzej Filinski, and Jonathan Sterling. Each of these articles touches on themes that are central to Bob’s research: module system design, proof-directed program development, and (to use Bob’s term) “computational trinitarianism”. In this foreword to the Festschrift, we have additionally compiled reminiscences of Bob Harper from his PhD students. We invited them to reflect on their experiences working with and learning from Bob. We believe these reminiscences, presented in chronological order of dissertation date, deliver a most fitting tribute to Bob in honor of his 64th birthday.

Abstract

This study discusses the narrative structure of the three-act film Story Of Kale by looking at the dramatic elements in the story presented. The purpose of this study was to determine the dramatic stages of the three-act film Story of Kale and the plots used in packaging the story of the spin-off film directed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko. The research method used is a qualitative description to see in depth the narrative structure and dramatic elements used starting from the early, middle and final stages. Analysis of the data on the object of this research uses the three-act narrative structure analysis technique according to Syd Field. The results of the analysis of this study found that the backward plot presented in the film Story of Kale does not use the rules of the three-act narrative structure. The use of a three-act structure is seen in the chronological order of the story of the early Story of Kale film, the emergence of problems and conflicts. This study concludes that the simultaneous use of flashback plots and editing techniques can change the overall form of the narrative story.

The second essay in the cycle of the researches of the activities of the Ukrainian composer, publicist, active participant of the national movement of the second half of the XIX-th century Petro Sokalskyi (1832 - 1887) in the Imperial Society of Agriculture of Southern Russia focuses on the analysis of the authorial articles published in the volumes of «Notes of the Imperial Society of Agriculture of Southern Russia» during 1869–1872. Therefore, the classification of publications by thematic categories and their review in chronological order are the main tasks of the study. It was found out that Petro Sokalskyi not only held the positions of the secretary of the society and editor of “Notes” (from 1869 to 1871), but also actively wrote on agricultural topics. Author's articles of this period were the reviews of the problems of agriculture in the south of the empire in different years; the discussions of measures of encouraging the sheep farming and winemaking in the region; the descriptions of the results of the exhibition of viticulture and winemaking; and so on. The publicist also responded to questions that worried the farmers, winemakers and workers throughout the empire: economic and customs policy, the “wool issue”, the labor issue and more. In fact, on all the above issues, Sokalskyi expressed professional and deep thoughts, and also drew upon the international and European experience, which underscored his general intelligence in different fields of knowledge. The characteristic of this part of the author's journalistic heritage allows not only to supplement the available biographical information, but also to draw the attention of researchers to individual members of the Imperial Society of Agriculture of Southern Russia. In addition, the authors' articles will be useful for agricultural researchers.

Background: in a previous paper we reported the statistical analysis and other distribution data of a homeopathic pathogenetic trial (HPT) of Plumbum metallicum 30cH carried out by our group. However, at that time we did not report the resulting pure materia medica, i.e., the totality of symptoms elicited by the tested medicine on healthy volunteers. Aim: to communicate to the homeopathic community the full record of symptoms collected in our HPT of Plb. Methods: methods to collect and select symptoms have been reported in the previous paper. In synthesis were excluded all previous common symptoms of volunteers, even with slight differences, and selected only those that were really unknown, never seen, unusual or very strange for the prover. In this paper special emphasis was given to new symptoms as well as unusual or repeated dreams, while in the previous paper special emphasis was given to repeated and crossed symptoms. Results: symptoms are reported in their chronological order of appearance in each volunteer. 37 new symptoms were found, useful to update Homeopathic Repertories. It is also included a synthesis of the original HPT of Plb carried out in 1828 in order to make available the full experimental materia medica currently existing. Conclusions: the new HPT, besides widening the pathogenetic picture of Plb (skin and mucosae symptoms), also allowed us to give new and deeper meanings to some of the symptoms reported in the original trial, such as Anxiety, Activity, Depression, Slowness, Gastro-oesophageal problems, Colitis. The dreams complete the remedy image, mainly in work, religion and sexual themes. Up to the present time there is no peer-reviewed publication devoted to HPTs. For this reason, researchers are compelled to publish HPTs as private editions. This results in poor control of the quality of publications and a lack of standards on how to present the results of HPTs.

The Ḥanafī legal theory is characterized by the fact that unlike other Islamic legal theories it has been extracted from the Ḥanafī fiqh developed by its founding jurists. Later, the Ḥanafī fiqh seems to have gradually split down into trends; one representing the jurists/theorists of ‘Irāq and the other representing those of Mā Warā’ al-Nahr/Samarqand. Both of these trends have left a great impact on the Ḥanafī legal theory. The paper aims to look over this bifurcation and trace its origins to the Ḥanafī fiqh itself. For this purpose, it analyses the works of pioneering Ḥanafī theorists such as Abū Bakr al-Jaṣṣāṣ, Abū Zayd al-Dabūsī, Abū al-Ḥasan al-Bazdawī, and Muḥammad b. Aḥmad al-Sarakhsī in chronological order. The paper finds that al-Jaṣṣāṣ is the pioneer in terms of the development of the Ḥanafī legal theory; al-Dabūsī’s work is characterized by introducing new terminologies; and the works of al-Bazdawī and al-Sarakhsī are useful for arriving at the conclusive stance of the Ḥanafī legal theory. Though the latter two theorists belonged to Mā Warā’ al-Nahr, their preference in some occasions for the views of ‘Irāqī theorists indicate that they did not engage as communal competitors; rather, they played their roles as referees by relying greatly on Ḥanafī fiqh while developing Ḥanafī legal theory. They made robust efforts for tracing the origin of a Ḥanafī theoretical viewpoint to Ḥanaf┘ substantive law or furū‘. This is how they successfully showed the coherency and consistency in Ḥanafī fiqh and uṣūl. This paper specially focuses on al-Sarakhsī’s Uṣūl in which he critically examined the views of his predecessors from Mā Warā’ al-Nahr r on certain issues.
