This article investigates the effects of radiation and heat generation on magnetohydrodynamic( MHD) natural convection flow of an incompressible viscous electrically conducting fluid along a vertically placed flat plate in presence of viscous dissipation and heat conduction. Appropriate transformations were employed to transform governing equations of this flow into dimensionless form and then solved using the implicit finite difference method with Keller box scheme. The resulting numerical solutions of transformed governing equations are presented graphically in terms of velocity profile, temperature distribution, skin friction coefficient and surface temperature and the effects of magnetic parameter (M), radiation parameter (R), Prandtl number (Pr) and heat generation parameter (Q) and viscous dissipation parameter (N) on the flow have been studied with the help of graphs. A heated vertical flat plate in the presence of heat generation is an extremely significant technological issue, and many academics have studied this sort of problem. A vertical plate submerged in a fluid with varying viscosity will be used in this research to investigate the effects of variable viscosity and thermal conductivity on heat generation free convection flow. The boundary layer equations in this section are two-dimensional, laminar, and unstable. The fundamental governing equations are turned into non-dimensional governing equations by using the necessary variables. Using the Crank-Nicolson implicit finite-difference technique, these equations are solved numerically. Viscosity and thermal conductivity are temperature-dependent properties of a viscous, incompressible fluid. Variations in the study's numerous parameters will reveal and compare the velocities, temperatures, local skin friction, and local heat transfer co-efficient profiles. There will be a comparison between the current numerical data and previously reported data findings. Besides that, we'll compare our current work numbers to those of past released publications. Graphs and tables will be used to display the findings for a variety of key physical characteristics.

The heat generation effect on natural convection flow along and conduction inside a vertical flat plate is investigated. The developed governing equations with the associated boundary conditions for this analysis are transferred to dimensionless forms using a local non-similar transformation. The transformed non-linear equations of the non-dimensional equations are then solved using the implicit finite difference method with Keller box-scheme. Numerical results are found for different values of the heat generation parameter, conjugate conduction parameter and Prandtl number. The overall investigation of the velocity, temperature, skin friction and heat transfer rate are presented graphically.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to further extend the work of Weng and Chen (2009) by considering heat generation/absorption nature of fluid. Design/methodology/approach Exact solution of momentum equation is derived separately in terms of Bessel’s function of first and second kind for heat-generating fluid and modified Bessel’s function of first and second kind for heat absorbing fluid. Findings During the course of numerical computations, it is found that skin friction and rate of heat transfer at outer surface of inner cylinder and inner surface of outer cylinder increases with the increase in heat generation parameter while the reverse trend is found in the case of heat absorption parameter. Originality/value In view of the amount of works done on natural convection with internal heat generation/absorption, it becomes interesting to investigate the effect of this important activity on natural convection flow in a vertical annular micro-channel. The purpose of this paper is to further extend the work of Weng and Chen (2009) by considering heat generation/absorption nature of fluid.

In this paper, the viscous dissipation effects on magnetohydrodynamic natural convection flow over a sphere in the presence of heat generation have been described. The governing boundary layer equations are first transformed into a nondimensional form and the resulting nonlinear system of partial differential equations are then solved numerically using finite-difference method together with Keller-box scheme. The numerical results of the surface shear stress in terms of skin friction coefficient and the rate of heat transfer in terms of local Nusselt number, velocity as well as temperature profiles are shown graphically and tabular form for a selection of parameters set consisting of heat generation parameter Q, magnetic parameter M, viscous dissipation parameter N and the Prandlt number Pr.
