Although the theory of green development behavior and performance of industrial enterprises (GDBP-IE) reveals that the green development behavior (GDB) of industrial enterprises is affected by internal and external factors and produces performance, it lacks a clear mechanism. This paper aims to verify the theory of GDBP-IE and reveals the mechanism of GDBP-IE in the Chinese context. The partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method was used to analyze valid samples of Chinese industrial enterprises (N = 615). The empirical conclusions are as follows. (1) Corporate tangible resources, corporate intangible resources (CIR), market environment, public supervision and policy and institutional environment (PIE) have a significant positive effect on GDB (i.e., green supply chain management practice and clean production behavior). (2) Compared with other factors, the positive effect of CIR on GDB is the strongest. (3) The level of positive effect of PIE on GDB is not as significant as other factors. (4) GDB has a significant positive effect on green development performance (i.e., corporate social performance, corporate financial performance and corporate environmental performance). This paper provides effective evidence for researchers to use other methods to further verify the theory of GDBP-IE in the Chinese context. This paper also provides an opportunity for cluster analysis of GDBP-IE in different countries or regions. In addition, this paper not only gives a targeted reference for the government to formulate guidelines concerning the green development of industrial enterprises but also encourages industrial enterprise managers to formulate green development strategies, which is a way to help industrial enterprise managers and workers to participate in and comply with GDB.

Abstract. This study aims to examine the negative effect of job stress on organizational commitment; positive effect of job satisfaction on organizational commitment; negative effect of job stress on performance; positive effect of job satisfaction on performance; positive effect of organizational commitment on performance. The target population were all 45 JBP High School teachers. The sampling technique used was saturated or census samples. The data was collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach using SmartPLS program. The results showed that the job stress negatively affected organizational commitment and performance. In addition, the organizational commitment and job satisfaction had a positive effect on performance. Keywords:  Job Stress, Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment,  Performance Abstrak.

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the factors that influence the decision on the place of delivery at the Maternal and Child Polyclinic (KIA), Clinic of the Keluarga Pisangan Baru (KPB). The data research technique uses quantitative methods which are carried out by giving questionnaires in the form of scale questions and direct interviews with respondents. In this study, the target population was all pregnant women at the KIA Polyclinic from October to November 2020. Purposive sampling is apllied in this research. The number of samples is 136 respondents. Then, the data were processed using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation  Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique with the help of SmartPLS software. The results showed that patient behavior, distance, medical personnel services, service facilities, promotions and family roles do not have a positive effect on the decision to choose the place of delivery. Service costs do not have a negative effect on the decision to choose the place of delivery. The role of family, service facilities, and service costs have a positive effect on patient behavior. Meanwhile, distance, medical personnel service, and promotion did not have a positive effect on patient behavior.

Students’ decisions to enter or persist in STEM courses is linked with their affective domain. The influence of factors impacting students’ affective domain in introductory college chemistry classes, such as attitude, is often overlooked by instructors, who instead focus on students’ mathematical abilities as sole predictors of academic achievement. The current academic barrier to enrollment in introductory college chemistry classes is typically a passing grade in a mathematics prerequisite class. However, mathematical ability is only a piece of the puzzle in predicting preparedness for college chemistry. Herein, students’ attitude toward the subject of chemistry was measured using the original Attitudes toward the Subject of Chemistry Inventory (ASCI). Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to chart and monitor the development of students’ attitude toward the subject of chemistry during an introductory college chemistry course. Results from PLS-SEM support a 3-factor (intellectual accessibility, emotional satisfaction, andinterestandutility) structure, which could signal the distinct cognitive, affective, and behavioral components of attitude, according to its theoretical tripartite framework. Evidence of a low-involvement hierarchy of attitude effect is also presented herein. This study provides a pathway for instructors to identify at-risk students, exhibiting low affective characteristics, early in a course so that academic interventions are feasible. The results presented here have implications for the design and implementation of teaching strategies geared toward optimizing student achievement in introductory college chemistry.

Over the past 15 years, the use of Partial Least Squares (PLS) in academic research has enjoyed increasing popularity in many social sciences including Information Systems, marketing, and organizational behavior. PLS can be considered an alternative to covariance-based SEM and has greater flexibility in handling various modeling problems in situations where it is difficult to meet the hard assumptions of more traditional multivariate statistics. This chapter focuses on PLS for beginners. Several topics are covered and include foundational concepts in SEM, the statistical assumptions of PLS, a LISREL-PLS comparison and reflective and formative measurement.
