The purpose of this project is to explore whether there is a correlation
pattern between the number of banks and banking status, as well as to
find the driving factors behind the banking status of New York City
residents. The analysis concluded that there is a weak correlation
between the availability of banks in a neighborhood and the ratio of
unbanked households. The increase in the ratio of unbanked households is
mainly related to two socio-economic features: poverty level and
unemployment.
