Studies of Toggle-Lever-Toggle 3-Stage Series Force Amplifying Mechanism and its Applications

With the help of multistage series force amplifying mechanism, the initial acting force can be amplified several dozen times or even up to more than one hundred times and meanwhile decrease the diameter size of a hydraulic cylinder or a pneumatic cylinder. On basis of previous studies, the author does some logic analysis on toggle-lever-toggle 3-stage series force amplifying mechanism and work out the logic pattern which is helpful for engineers and technicians to choose the right type of mechanisms according to engineering need. Also this paper gives the mechanics calculation formulas and their graphics which are instructive and reference value to engineering application. This paper also discusses the applications of toggle-lever-toggle series force amplifying mechanism in pneumatic fixture and pneumatic punch machine. By typical legend we introduce the work principle and technical characteristics of the relevant fixture and punch machine.
