In the present study an electrochemical assay for the detection of arsenic (III) by means of square wave anodic stripping voltammetry with co-deposition of silver at screen printed and glassy carbon electrodes is presented. This methodology shows a good behavior in presence of dissolved oxygen with appropriate detection limits to monitoring the water quality according to the guidelines values. The evaluation of most important interfering ions (Cl-, Hg2+, Pb2+ and Cu2+) is also described. The proposed analytical strategy demonstrated to be suitable for decentralized arsenic analysis and can be easily integrated to portable instrumentation commercially available.
