Abstract The title complex 4 was prepared from η-C3H5Co(CO)3 and η-C5H5(CO)Co-P(CH3)2H. It completes the series of PR2-and AsR2-bridged homodinuclear complexes C2(CO)7C5H5-As(CH3)2, Mn2(CO)6C5H5As(CH3)2, and Fe2(CO)5C5H5P(CH3)2. Its crystal structure analysis reveals the systematic variation of the ligand distribution along the series which depends only on the number of ligands present and not on given coordination geometries. The metal-metal bond length in 4 is mainly determined by the stereochemical require-ments of the bridging phosphido ligand.

In the title compound, μ-diphenylphosphido-μ-hydrido-bis[bromido(triphenylphosphane-κP)platinum(II)] diethyl ether monosolvate, [Pt2Br2(C12H10P)H(C18H15P)2]·C4H10O or [Pt2(μ-H)(μ-PPh2)Br2(PPh3)2]·(C2H5)2O, the PtII atoms are coordinated in a distorted square-planar arrangement, with one hydrido and one phosphido ligand bridging in a trans position. In the lattice, C—H...·O and C—H...π interactions are present. This complex has a total number of 32 electrons, 16 electrons for each PtII atom. One of the Br atoms is disordered over two positions in a 0.92:0.08 ratio.

The title compound, [FePt(C12H10P)(C13H13Si)(C18H15P)2(CO)3]·0.5CH2Cl2, represents an example of a phosphido-bridged heterobimetallic silyl complex; these are interesting precursors for the coordination and activation of small unsaturated organic molecules. The μ2-PPh2ligand spans the iron and platinum atoms, which are connectedviaa metal–metal bond of 2.7738 (4) Å. In contrast to most other complexes of the [(OC)3Fe(SiR3)(μ-PR2)PtL2] family, where the iron-bound SiR3group istrans-arranged with respect to the μ2-PPh2ligand, the SiPh2Me ligand is roughly collinear with the Fe–Pt vector [Si—Fe—Pt = 169.07 (3)°].
