Transition metal derivatives of phenylphosphine, C6H5PH2ML with ML = Cr(CO)5, C5H5Mn(CO)2 and CH3C5H4Mn(CO)2 may be lithiated by lithium-n-butyl. The synthesis of CH3C5H4Mn(CO)2P(C6H5) (H)Li and CH3C5H4Mn(CO)2P(C6H5)Li2 as well as there reaction with D2O are described.
