This paper reports measurements of helium A and X parameters for electron impact excitation of the 31 P state of helium at an incident energy of 81 �2 e V and at large momentum transfers. Comparison is made with previous 21P results and both sets of results show very similar trends. The data are also compared with a number of theoretical calculations but the agreement is not good.
