The title compound, [Mn(C12H8N2)2(H2O)2](C4H4O4S)·[Mn(C4H4O4S)(C12H8N2)2]·13H2O, contains one dianion of thiodiglycolic acid (tdga2−) and two independent manganese(II) moieties, viz. [Mn(phen)2(H2O)2]2+ and [Mn(tdga)(phen)2], where phen is 1,10-phenanthroline. The MnII atoms are octahedrally coordinated by four N atoms of two bidentate phen ligands [Mn—N = 2.240 (2)–2.3222 (19) Å] and either two water O atoms or two tdga carboxyl O atoms [Mn—O = 2.1214 (17)–2.1512 (17) Å]. The tdga ligand chelates as an O,O′-bidentate ligand, forming an eight-membered ring with one Mn atom. The free tdga2− dianion is hydrogen bonded to an [Mn(phen)2(H2O)2]2+ ion, with O...O distances of 2.606 (2) and 2.649 (2) Å. The crystal structure is further stabilized by an extensive network of hydrogen bonds involving 13 water molecules.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 2,4,6-triamino-1,3,5-triazin-1-ium cyanoacetate monohydrate, C3H7N6 +·NCCH2COO−·H2O, consists of a melaminium cation, a cyanoacetate anion and a water molecule, which are connected to each other via N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds, generating an eight-membered ring. In the crystal, the melaminium cations are connected by two pairs of N—H...N hydrogen bonds, forming tapes along [110]. These tapes develop a three-dimensional network through N—H...O, O—H...O, N—H...N and C—H...O hydrogen bonds between the cations, anions and water molecules.

The title compound, [Ca(C4H4O6)]·4H2O, calcium tartrate tetrahydrate, is a new triclinic centrosymmetric form identified in rat kidney calculus. The crystal structure was determined from powder and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The four water molecules belong to one square face of the Ca-atom coordination (a square antiprism), the four O atoms of the second square face coming from two tartrate anions, building infinite chains alternating Ca atom polyhedra and tartrate anions along a, with the chains cross-linked by a network of hydrogen bonds.

In the title compound, C21H21O5PS·H2O·CH2Cl2, the phosphonium–sulfonate zwitterion has the acidic H atom located on the P atom rather than the sulfonate group. The S—O bond lengths [1.4453 (15)–1.4521 (14) Å] are essentially equal. In the crystal, the water molecules bridge two zwitterionsviaOwater—H...Osulfonatehydrogen bonds into a centrosymmetric dimer. The dimers are further linked by weak CAryl—H...Osulfonatehydrogen bonds into chains extending along [100]. The PH+group is not involved in intermolecular interactions.

The title compound, C20H36N4·C2N10·7H2O, was obtained by reaction of 1-methylimidazole with 1,12-dibromododecane, followed by repeated ion metathesis (bromide → sulfate → azotetrazolate). An intricate network of hydrogen bonds is formed between anions and water molecules, leading to a layered arrangement parallel to (101).

The asymmetric unit of the polymeric title compound, {[Cd(NCS)2(C6H6N2S)]·2CH3OH}n, consists of one cadmium(II) cation that is located on a centre of inversion as well as one thiocyanate anion, one pyridine-4-carbothioamide ligand and one methanol molecule in general positions. The CdIIcations are octahedrally coordinated by the pyridine N atom of two pyridine-4-carbothioamide ligands and by the S and N atoms of four thiocyanate anions and are linked into chains along [010] by pairs of anionic ligands. These chains are further linked into layers extending along (201) by intermolecular N—H...O and O—H...S hydrogen bonds. One of the amino H atoms of the pyridine-4-carbothioamide ligand is hydrogen-bonded to the O atom of a methanol molecule, and a symmetry-related methanol molecule is the donor group to the S atom of another pyridine-4-carbothioamide ligand whereby each of the pyridine-4-carbothioamide ligands forms two pairs of centrosymmetric N—H...S and O—H...S hydrogen bonds. The methanol molecules are equally disordered over two orientations.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C54H64O12S4, consists of one half of the molecule, which is located on an inversion centre. The heterocyclic six-membered ring adopts a distorted envelope conformation with the spiro C atom as the flap. In the crystal, molecules are linked by weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds with anR22(14) motif, forming a chain along theb-axis direction.

The crystal structure of the hydrated title salt, 2C6H13N2+·S2O32−·2H2O, contains a centrosymmetric cyclic motif of eight hydrogen-bonded molecular subunits. Two DABCOH+cations (DABCO = 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane) are linked to two water molecules and two thiosulfate anionsviaO—H...N and O—H...O hydrogen bonds, respectively. Two other water molecules close the cyclic motif through O—H...O contacts to the first two water molecules and to the two thiosulfate anions. A second pair of DABCOH+cations is N—H...O hydrogen bonded to the two anions and is pendant to the ring. Adjacent cyclic motifs are bridged into a block-like arrangement extending along [100] through O—H...O interactions involving the second pair of water molecules and neighbouring thiosulfate anions.

The L − ions and water molecules are linked through an extended network of hydrogen bonds to form a three-dimensional supramolecular structure.

In the title compound, [Tb(C2H3O2)2(C11H10N4)(H2O)2]NO3·H2O, the Tb3+ ion is nine-coordinated in a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry by the three N atoms of the tridentate 1-(pyridin-2-ylmethylidene)-2-(pyridin-2-yl)hydrazine ligand, four carboxylate O atoms of two chelating acetate groups and two O atoms of the coordinating water molecules. The organic hydrazine ligand is disordered over two orientations with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.52 (3):0.48 (3). All bond lengths in the coordination environment of the Tb3+ ion are slightly larger than those observed in the isostructural Y3+ and Er3+ complexes. In the crystal, the complex cations are linked by pairs of O—H...O hydrogen bonds into dimers. These dimers, nitrate anions and non-coordinating water molecules are joined by O—H...O and N—H...O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional structure.
