In the title compound, C16H18N4·2H2O, there is one half-molecule (organic) and one water molecule in the asymmetric unit, the organic molecule being centrosymmetric. The separation of the two terminal N atoms is 11.296 (8) Å and the dihedral angle between the benzene and imidazole rings is 85.27 (18)°; the molecule adopts a Z-shaped conformation. A one-dimensional water chain links the organic molecules, forming a two-dimensional ladder-shaped network along the b-axis direction through intermolecular O—H...O and N—H...O hydrogen bonds.

In the title compound, C17H18Cl3NO5·H2O, intramolecular N—H...O and C—H...Cl hydrogen bonds formS(6) andS(5) ring motifs, respectively. The chiral organic molecule is connected to the solvent water molecule by a short O—H...O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, a weak C—H...Cl interaction connects the organic molecules along [100] while the water molecules act as bridges between the organic molecules in both the [100] and [010] directions, generating layers parallel to theabplane.

The title compound, C8H4BrNO2·0.5H2O, has a single planar molecule in the asymmetric unit with the non-H atoms having a mean deviation from planarity of 0.028 Å. There is also a half of a water molecule (twofold symmetry) present in the asymmetric unit, which hydrogen bonds with the isatin molecules through O—H...O and N—H...O hydrogen bonds to form a two-dimensional framework in theabplane. There are close Br...O contacts of 2.999 (2) Å to link the layers. The nine-membered rings of the isatin molecules stack along theaaxis with parallel slipped π–π interactions [inter-centroid distances = 3.6989 (19) and 4.1227 (19) Å].

In the title compound, C4H12N2 2+·HAsO4 2−·H2O, the component species interact by way of N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds, the latter leading to infinite sheets of HAsO4 2− anions and water molecules containing R 6 6(18) loops. The asymmetric unit contains one anion, one water molecule and half each of two centrosymmetric cations.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C2H8N+·C7H4NO3S−, contains a saccharinate anion and a protonated ethylamine cation. Intermolecular N—H...O hydrogen bonds link these ions into a two-dimensional framework structure. The crystal packing is further stabilized by weak intermolecular C—H...O hydrogen bonds

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C10H9N2 +·0.5C2O4 2−·C2H2O4·H2O, consists of a 2,2′-bipyridinium cation, half an oxalate dianion, one oxalic acid and one water molecule. One N atom in 2,2′-bipyridine is unprotonated, while the second is protonated and forms an N—H...O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, the anions are connected with surrounding acid molecules and water molecules by strong near-linear O—H...O hydrogen bonds. The water molecules are located between the anions and oxalic acids; their O atoms participate as donors and acceptors, respectively, in O—H...O hydrogen bonds, which form sheets arranged parallel to the ac plane.

The title compound, [Cd3(C8H10O4)3(C12H9N3)2(H2O)2]nor [Cd3(chdc)3(4-PyBIm)2(H2O)2]n, was synthesized hydrothermally from the reaction of Cd(CH3COO)2·2H2O with 2-(pyridin-4-yl)-1H-benzimidazole (4-PyBIm) and cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxylic acid (1,4-chdcH2). The asymmetric unit consists of one and a half CdIIcations, one 4-PyBIm ligand, one and a half 1,4-chdc2−ligands and one coordinated water molecule. The central CdIIcation, located on an inversion centre, is coordinated by six carboxylate O atoms from six 1,4-chdc2−ligands to complete an elongated octahedral coordination geometry. The two terminal rotationally symmetric CdIIcations each exhibits a distorted pentagonal–bipyramidal geometry, coordinated by one N atom from 4-PyBIm, five O atoms from three 1,4-chdc2−ligands and one O atom from an aqua ligand. The 1,4-chdc2−ligands possess two conformations,i.e.e,e-trans-chdc2−ande,a-cis-chdc2−. Thecis-1,4-chdc2−ligands bridge the CdIIcations to form a trinuclear {Cd3}-based chain along thebaxis, while thetrans-1,4-chdc2−ligands further link adjacent one-dimensional chains to construct an interesting two-dimensional network.
