The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Co(NCS)2(C6H6N2O)4]·2C6H6N2O·C2H5OH, comprises one CoIIcation, two thiocyanate anions, four coordinating and two solvent isonicotinamide molecules and one ethanol solvent molecule. The CoIIcations are octahedrally coordinated by four N-coordinating isonicotinamide ligands and two terminally N-bonded thiocyanate anions. These discrete complexes are linked by intermolecular N—H...O and N—H...S hydrogen-bonding interactions into a three-dimensional network. The two isonicotinamide and the ethanol solvent molecules are embedded in channels of this network and are linked through further N—H...O and N—H...N hydrogen bonds to the network. The ethanol solvent molecule is disordered over two sets of sites (occupancy ratio 0.6:0.4).

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(NCS)2(C12H9NO)2(CH3OH)2]·CH3OH, comprises one NiII cation, two thiocyanate anions, two 4-benzoylpyridine coligands, two coordinating, as well as one non-coordinating methanol molecule. The NiII cation is coordinated by two terminally N-bonded thiocyanate anions, the N atoms of two 4-benzoylpyridine coligands and the O atoms of two methanol ligands within a slightly distorted octahedron. Individual complexes are linked by intermolecular O—H...S hydrogen bonding into chains parallel to [010] that are further connected into layers parallel to (10\overline{1}) by C—H...S hydrogen bonds. Additional C—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network that limits channels extending parallel to [010] in which the non-coordinating methanol molecules are located. They are hydrogen-bonded to the coordinating methanol molecules. X-ray powder diffraction revealed that the compound could not be prepared as a pure phase.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Fe(NCS)2(C6H4N2)2(H2O)2]·2C6H4N2, comprises one FeIIcation occupying an inversion centre as well as one thiocyanate anion, one water molecule and two 4-cyanopyridine molecules in general positions. The iron cations are coordinated by two N-bonded thiocyanate anions, two (pyridine)N-bonded 4-cyanopyridine ligands and two water molecules into discrete complexes. The resulting coordination polyhedron can be described as a slightly distorted octahedron. The discrete complexes are connected through centrosymmetric pairs of (pyridine)C—H...N(cyano) hydrogen bonds into chains that are further linked into a three-dimensional network through intermolecular O—H...N hydrogen bonds involving the 4-cyanopyridine solvent molecules.

The crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(C6H4NO2)2(H2O)2]·2H2O, has been reinvestigated with improved precision [previous reports: Chang et al. (1972). J. Coord. Chem. 2, 31–34; Lumme et al. (1969). Suom. Kemistil. B, 42, 270]. In the title compound, the Co atom is located on an inversion center and its coordination can be described as slightly distorted octahedral, equatorially trans-coordinated by two N and O atoms of two picolinate ligands and axially coordinated by two O atoms of the water molecules. Intermolecular O—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions result in the formation of an intricate three-dimensional network.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C19H16N2O5S, contains four independent molecules (A,B,CandD), with two molecules (BandD) displaying disorder in their methylsulfanyl groups [occupancy ratios of 0.797 (11):0.203 (11) and 0.85 (2):0.15 (2)]. The nitro groups are twisted slightly out of the planes of the 2-pyrroline rings to which they are bonded with dihedral angles of 10.17 (1), 8.01 (1), 9.44 (1) and 8.87 (1)° in moleculesA,B,CandD, respectively. The 2-pyrroline rings are almost orthogonal to the attached tolyl rings, forming dihedral angles of 73.44 (1), 81.21 (1), 88.18 (8) and 73.94 (1)° for moleculesA,B,CandD, respectively. A weak intramolecular O—H...O interaction is observed in moleculesBandC. The two hydroxy groups in each molecule are involved in intermolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonding. In the crystal, molecules are connectedviaO—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming a complex three-dimensional network.

In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni(C6H4N2O4S)(H2O)3]·2.5H2O, the NiII atom is six-coordinated by one 2-(6-oxido-4-oxo-3,4-dihydropyimidin-2-ylsulfanyl)acetate ligand and three water molecules. Hydrogen-bonding interactions between the coordinated and uncoordinated water molecules and between the water molecules and the organic ligand result in a three-dimensional network structure.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 2,4,6-triamino-1,3,5-triazin-1-ium cyanoacetate monohydrate, C3H7N6 +·NCCH2COO−·H2O, consists of a melaminium cation, a cyanoacetate anion and a water molecule, which are connected to each other via N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds, generating an eight-membered ring. In the crystal, the melaminium cations are connected by two pairs of N—H...N hydrogen bonds, forming tapes along [110]. These tapes develop a three-dimensional network through N—H...O, O—H...O, N—H...N and C—H...O hydrogen bonds between the cations, anions and water molecules.

The title compound, C16H14F5N5O5S [systematic name: 2-(2,2-difluoroethoxy)-N-(5,8-dimethoxy-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-c]pyrimidin-2-yl)-6-(trifluoromethyl)benzenesulfonamide], is used as a herbicide. The asymmetric unit of this structure comprises two independent molecules,AandB. The dihedral angles between the ring planes of the triazolopyrimidine ring systems and the benzene rings are 68.84 (7)° forAand 68.05 (6)° forB. In the crystal, weak intermolecular π–π interactions, with centroid–centroid separations of 3.4456 (17) and 3.5289 (15) Å and C—F...π [3.5335 (17) Å and 107.92 (13)°] contacts link adjacent molecules into chains along [001]. C—H...O and C—H...F hydrogen bonds link typeBmolecules into chains parallel to (100). In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C13H13N3O3, the 2-(2-methoxphenyl)ethenyl unit is connected to the methyl-nitroimidazole 1-methyl-4-nitro-1H-imidazole moiety. The molecule is quasi-planar and the planes of the two rings form a dihedral angle of 0.92 (11)°. The crystal packing can be described as layers parallel to the (011) plane, stabilized by intermolecular C—H...O hydrogen bonding, resulting in the formation of an infinite three-dimensional network linking these layers. Strong π–π stacking interactions are observed,viz.benzene–benzene, imidazole–imidazole and benzene–imidazole rings, with centroid–centroid distances of 3.528 (2), 3.457 (2) and 3.544 (2) Å, respectively. Intensity statistics indicated twinning by non-merohedry, with refined weighs of the twin components of 0.3687:0.6313.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C6H5Cl2NO2S, contains two molecules with similar conformations (r.m.s. overlay fit for the non-H atoms = 0.067 Å). Atoms attached to the pendent Csp3—S bond are arranged in a staggered conformation with one of the Cl atomsantito the C atom in the aromatic ring [C—S—C—Cl torsion angles = 178.41 (11) and −176.70 (13)°]. In the crystal, molecules are linked by C—H...N and C—H...O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network, and weak aromatic π–π stacking is also observed [centroid–centroid separation = 3.8902 (17) Å].
