The reaction between 5-nitroisatin and phenylhydrazine in acidic ethanol yields the title compound, C14H10N4O3, whose molecular structure deviates slightly from a planar geometry (r.m.s. deviation = 0.065 Å for the mean plane through all non-H atoms). An intramolecular N—H...O hydrogen bond is present, forming a ring of graph-set motifS(6). In the crystal, molecules are linked by N—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions into a two-dimensional network along (120), and rings of graph-set motifR22(8),R22(26) andR44(32) are observed. Additionally, a Hirshfeld surface analysis suggests that the molecules are stacked along [100] through C=O...Cginteractions and indicates that the most important contributions for the crystal structure are O...H (28.5%) and H...H (26.7%) interactions. Anin silicoevaluation of the title compound with the DHFR enzyme (dihydrofolate reductase) was performed. The isatin–hydrazone derivative and the active site of the selected enzyme show N—H...O(ASP29), N—H...O(ILE96) andCg...Cg(PHE33) interactions.

In the title compound, C10H6N4O5S, the mean plane of the non-H atoms of the central amide fragment C—N—C(=O)—C [r.m.s. deviation = 0.0294 Å] forms dihedral angles of 12.48 (7) and 46.66 (9)° with the planes of the thiazole and benzene rings, respectively. In the crystal, molecules are linked by N—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [001]. In addition, weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds link these chains, forming a two-dimensional network, containingR44(28) ring motifs parallel to (100).

In the crystal structure of the title compound, C11H13N3S, molecules form centrosymmetric synthons with an R 2 2(8) graph-set motif, linked by pairs of N—H...S hydrogen bonds. The synthons are connected through further N—H...S hydrogen bonds, extending the packing to form a two-dimensional network lying parallel to (001). In addition, C—H...π interactions are observed.

The title compound, C58H64S8, has been prepared by Pd-catalysed direct C—H arylation of tetrathienonaphthalene (TTN) with 5-hexyl-2-iodothiophene and recrystallized by slow evaporation from dichloromethane. The crystal structure shows a completely planar geometry of the TTN core, crystallizing in the monoclinic space groupP21/c. The structure consists of slipped π-stacks and the interfacial distance between the mean planes of the TTN cores is 3.456 (5) Å, which is slightly larger than that of the comparable derivative of tetrathienoanthracene (TTA) with 2-hexylthiophene groups. The packing in the two structures is greatly influenced by both the aromatic core of the structure and the alkyl side chains.

The title compound, C22H15N3O2, can be described as a ketone with a phenol substituent and a terpyridine ligand coordinated to the carbonyl group. The three six-membered rings of the terpyridine ligand are not coplanar. The dihedral angles between the mean planes of the central ring and the external pyridine ligands are 22.77 (9) and 26.77 (7)°. The central ring of the terpyridine ligand is also not coplanar with the o-hydroxy phenyl ring, the dihedral angle being 39.72 (5)°. An intramolecular O—H...O hydrogen bond occurs. The crystal structure of the title compound is consolidated by C—H...O and C—H...N hydrogen bonding interactions.

In the title compound, C18H15NO3, the isoxazole moiety adopts a shallow envelope conformation, with the C atom bearing the OH group displaced by 0.148 (1) Å from the mean plane through the other four atoms. The mean plane of this ring (all atoms) subtends dihedral angles of 87.19 (6) and 15.51 (7)° with the benzofuran ring system (r.m.s. deviation = 0.007 Å) and the 4-methylphenyl ring, respectively. In the crystal, molecules are linked by O—H...N hydrogen bonds, generating [001]C(5) chains, with adjacent molecules in the chain related byc-glide symmetry. Weak C—H...O interactions link the chains into a three-dimensional network.

The title compound, C7H13N3O3S [systematic name: (Z)-methyl 2-dimethylamino-N-(methylcarbamoyloxy)-2-oxoethanimidothioate], is an oxime carbamate acaride, insecticide and nematicide. The asymmetric unit comprises two independent molecules,AandB. The dihedral angles between the mean planes [r.m.s. deviations = 0.0017 (A) and 0.0016 Å (B)] of the acetamide and oxyimino groups are 88.80 (8)° forAand 87.05 (8)° forB. In the crystal, N/C—H...O hydrogen bonds link adjacent molecules, forming chains along theaaxis. The chains are further linked by C—H...O hydrogen bonds, resulting in a three-dimensional network with alternating rows ofAandBmolecules in thebcplane stacked along thea-axis direction. The structure was refined as an inversion twin with a final BASF parameter of 0.16 (9).
