Directional correlations of gamma-ray cascades in 103Rh
Keyword(s):
The directional correlations of the 557–53-keV and the 444–53-keV gamma-ray cascades observed in the decay of 103Ru have been studied. Dilute liquid sources (RuCl2 in HCl) of varying activity and of predetermined correlation times τc were used. The unperturbed angular correlation functions were evaluated to be:[Formula: see text]Spins and parities of the 650- and 537-keV levels of 103Rh deduced from the analysis of the experimental data and consistent with the restriction of the 53-keV gamma as an M1 transition, indicated by internal conversion coefficient results, are discussed.
