The electrodisintegration cross sections, 16O(e,α0)12C,e′ and 20Ne(e,α0)16O,e′, have been measured and, by using virtual photon analysis, a comparison with photodisintegration experiments has been made. Satisfactory agreement with earlier 12C(α,γ0)16O experiments was found and the 20Ne(γ,α0)16O reaction reveals several pronounced resonances.

Recent measurements of the 4He(y, p)3H and 4He(y, n)3He cross sections suggest that their ratio in the giant dipole resonance region is approximately I . 6. This is in marked disagreement with detailed model calculations, which have given a ratio close to unity. We here explain why the calculations yielded this result, by using a simple argument based on independent experimental data and some apparently reasonable assumptions. In order to remove the discrepancy with experiment, it appears to be necessary to relax one of these assumptions and to include contributions from states of higher configurations

Mictrorons are accelerators of electrons and are simultaneous sources of bremsstrahlung photon flux and fission neutrons. In 1982, a microtron of seventeen trajectories Microtron MT - 17 was put into operation at the National Institute of Physics of Vietnam. Though very modest, microtons are very useful for developing countries such as Vietnam in both fundamental and applied physics research. During the recent years by using the above mentioned MT - 17 and microtrons from other institutes we have carried out different investigations. In this report we present some results obtained in the studies of photonuclear reactions and photon activation analysis in the giant dipole resonance region.
