In this research paper we investigate the modelling and control of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) driven in rotation by wind turbine, the control objectives is to optimize capture wind, extract the maximum of the power generated to the grid using MPPT algorithm (Maximum Power Point Tracking) and have a specified reactive power generated whatever wind speed variable, the indirect field oriented control IFOC with the PI correctors was used to achieve such as decoupled control. To validate the dynamique performance of our controller the whole system was simulated using dSPACE DS1104 Controller board Real Time Interface (RTI) which runs in Simulink/MATLAB software and ControlDesk 4.2 graphical interfaces.

The paper presents the complete modeling and control strategy of variable speed wind turbine system (WTS) driven doubly fed induction generators (DFIG). A back-to-back converter is employed for the power conversion exchanged between DFIG and grid. The wind turbine is operated at the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) mode its maximum efficiency. Direct power control (DPC) based on selecting of the appropriate rotor voltage vectors and the errors of the active and reactive power, the control strategy of rotor side converter combines the technique of MPPT and direct power control. In the control system of the grid side converter the direct power control has been used to maintain a constant DC-Link voltage, and the reactive power is set to 0. Simulations results using MATLAB/SIMULINK are presented and discussed on a 1.5MW DFIG wind generation system demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control.

This paper describes the modelling and control system of a wind turbine, using a doubly fed induction generator. This configuration makes the wind turbine suitable for variable speed wind energy application. The power captured by the wind turbine is converted into electrical power by the induction generator, and it is transmitted to the grid by the stator and the rotor windings. The control system generates voltage command signals for rotor converter and grid converter, respectively, in order to control the power of the wind turbine. Reactive power exchanged with the network through the converters is set to 0 VAr. The control strategy has been developed using MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results are presented and discussed in the conclusions. Keywords: Wind energy, doubly fed induction generator, grid power, modelling, control.

In the recent years, the development and the exploitation of renewable energy knew a great evolution. Among these energy resources, the wind power represents an important potential for that the wind system has been the subject of several researches. The purpose of this study is to improve the power extracted from wind energy, taking into consideration the variation of wind speed which causes a problem in energy production. For this purpose, we have controlled the powers whether it is active or reactive delivered by the generator. This paper, presents essentially the modeling and control of doubly- fed induction generator (DFIG), which is connected to a variable speed wind turbine. Firstly, the model of the wind power system with the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) strategy is shown. Then, the modeling of doubly- fed induction generator (DFIG) and its power control is presented. Finnaly, to ensure the attitude of these controls the simulations is presented in the Matlab/Simulink environment.

The paper proposes a complete modeling and control technique of variable speed wind turbine system (WTS) based on the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). Two levels back-to-back converter is used to ensure the energy transfer between the DFIG rotor and the grid. The wind turbine to operate efficiently, a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm is implemented. Then, direct power control (DPC) strategy has been combined with the MPPT technique in order to guarantee the selection of the appropriate rotor voltage vectors and to minimize the active and reactive power errors. Finally, the simulation is performed by using MATLAB/simulink platform basing on 7.5KW DFIG wind generation system, and the results prove the effectiveness of our proposed control technique.

This paper describes a Fault Tolerant Control (FTC) of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind turbine model suitable for the simulation of this generator in the mode faulty mode. The dynamic model of a DFIG with stator inter-turn short circuit fault is proposed. A model (abc) is developed, which can represent both the healthy and faulty conditions. The DFIG is directly connected to the grid whereas the rotor winding is fed by back-to-back PWM converters .the Control schemes for active and reactive power regulation are designed firstly. Under different wind speed, maximum power point tracing (MPPT) control is implemented to ensure the optimum active power output. The numerical simulation developed in Matlab/Simulink studies the effects of stator inter-turn short-circuit in the DFIG. Afterward, the application of Approach technique of Adaptive Obs

Most of generators utilized in wind turbines are the Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG). Indirect matrix converter (IMC) is a candidate for substituting the traditional back-to-back converter in the future due to advantages gained by elimination of electrolytic capacitor. Starting DFIG wind turbines and synchronizing to the grid is a challenge in practice because of large inrush currents that could damage switches. Synchronizing the DFIG wind turbine controlled by the IMC is presented in this paper. Also, maximum power point tracking algorithm performance of this configuration is examined. A laboratory scale prototype of the proposed configuration is built. Experimental results have confirmed effectiveness of this configuration.
