A new genus Burmanyctycia gen. n. is described for the new species Burmanyctycia naumanni sp. n. from Chin State in north-western Myanmar. The new genus is related to the genera Blepharomima Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998, Bryotypella Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998 and Charanyctycia Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998. Two new synonyms are established: Bryotypella = Paranyctycia Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998, syn. n. and Bryotypella = Parabole Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998, syn. n. Six new combinations are established: Bryotypella minima (Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1999), comb. n., Bryotypella miraculosa (Hreblay, Peregovits & L. Ronkay, 1999), comb. n., Bryotypella orbiculosa (Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998), comb. n., Bryotypella rubiculosa (Hreblay & Ronkay, 1999), comb. n., Bryotypella medionigra (Hreblay & Ronkay, 1998), comb. n. and Bryotypella rectilinea (Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998), comb. n. The check-lists of the genera Bryotypella and Charanyctycia are provided. Adults, male and female genitalia of the new and the related taxa are illustrated.

AbstractThe species of the genus Hyppa Duponchel are revised and a new species is described. Adults of all species are illustrated, as are male and female genitalia where known. A neotype is designated for Hadena ancocisconensis Morrison. The concept of Hyppa contrasta is modified from that of a southern Appalachian endemic to that of a common transcontinental species.

A new species, Pieris tadokoroi, sp. nov. is described from Himachal Pradesh, India. The new species is closely similar to those of the Pieris napi group and can be diagnosed by its smaller size and a broad apical forewing patch. Based on the recently collected material, the Pieris napi group from India is reviewed. The male and female genitalia are analyzed and illustrated, including the first description of the female genitalia of Pieris extensa bhutya Talbot, 1939. Androconia of all the related species are studied and described.

The tribe Xylenini Guenée, is especially rich in the Himalayan region with the highest diversity occurring during the late fall and winter. Exploration of this fauna has a rich history but became especially intensive during recent decades resulting in many new descriptions. Milestones in this vast territorial study by country include Pakistan (Ronkay & Ronkay 1999), India (Hacker 1992), Nepal (Hreblay & Ronkay 1998, Benedek et al. 2013), Taiwan (Hreblay & Ronkay 1997; 2000, Ronkay & Ronkay 2000) Thailand, Vietnam (Hreblay et al. 1999) and China (Ronkay et al. 2010, Benedek et al. 2012; 2013). To this list we now add the mountainous areas of Myanmar which have only recently become accessible. During a late fall collecting trip to Western Myanmar, three specimens of a strange looking noctuid species externally somewhat similar to the Western Himalayan Mniotype leucocyma (Hampson, 1907) were collected. After examination of its male and female genitalia, this species was proven to be new to science. Moreover, the male genitalia of the new species show a surprisingly unusual complex of features, some of which, together with the female genitalia, are characteristic and decisively significant to the subtribe Xylenina. The male and female genitalia of this species are most similar to those of the genera Eupsilia Hübner and Owadaglaea Hacker & Ronkay, however, these genitalia have certain autapomorphic characters which clearly justify separation on generic level. The description of the new genus and species is given below with a comparison to the related Eupsilia and Owadaglaea, several other related genera (Lithophane Hübner, Conistra Hübner and Xylena Ochsenheimer) and the externally similar M. leucocyma as well.

The genus Margelana Staudinger, 1888 is a member of the tribe Apameini in the subfamily Xyleninae sensu Fibiger & Lafontaine 2005. The genus comprises three superficially similar species, all occurring from the Middle East to the Central Palaearctic region: Margelana versicolor (Staudinger, 1888), M. flavidior F. Wagner, 1931 (with its subspecies M. flavidior ochrea Brandt, 1941) and M. brunnea, sp. n. The habitat of all three species is dry rocky steppe with herbaceous vegetation and scattered bushes. Adults and male and female genitalia of all three species of Margelana are described, compared and illustrated. All three species occur in Iran.
