For the power distribution network line loss calculation, there are some problems, such as backward method, long calculation period, large workload and poor real-time performance. To this end, this paper proposes a real-time calculation method for distribution line loss based on dynamic three-phase unbalance, and a hardware device system with unbalanced phase sequence identification function, three-phase unbalance detection function and line loss real-time calculation function has been developed. The system uses a master-slave design based on the principle of wireless transmission. The slave collects standard three-phase current signals and transmits them to the host through wireless transmission. The host is installed on the low voltage side of the transformer in the transformer region, and the current signal of the transformer region is collected in real time. Unbalanced phase sequence identification, unbalance calculation, and line loss calculation based on dynamic unbalance are performed by comparing the current signals collected by the master and the slave. The above algorithm implementation process can be displayed online in real time. In addition to the core data processing and waveform display functions, the device also includes a battery power supply and management system, a signal storage and transmission system, and temperature measurement, and overcurrent and overvoltage protection. The test results of the device show that the device has the characteristics of convenient carrying, fast detection of three-phase unbalance, and accurate calculation of line loss. The device can monitor the running status of the distribution network transformer region in real time.

The thesis describes the loss model of distribution network and gives the transformer loss model and line loss model, Then it proposes some loss reduction measures at the stage of planning and design as well as operation and maintenance. Finally, according to the main problems about the loss reduction measures in China, it puts forward some countermeasures to reduce line loss . Distribution network as part of the end for power configuration which is directly connected with the users of demand side. The loss of distribution network has been high because of feeder radius, complex voltage grade and a large number of devices on the network. The line loss of distribution network represents a major component of the line loss in the whole power system, the line loss of 10kv and below distribution network accounts for about 78% in it according to statistical analysis[1-2]. So, under the current energy shortage situation, there is a great economic and social significance to adopt the reasonable measures to save energy and decrease loss in distribution network.

Theoretical line loss calculation is the basis of line loss analysis and decision-making in loss reduction. Due to technical constraints in the past, traditional theoretical line loss calculation method uses a large number of simplified calculations. This paper proposes a new online method of line loss calculation in distribution networks which is based on PQU (active power, reactive power and voltage) load curves. The proposed method has a large amount of data operation and thus can accurately reflect the load variation with time. Based on a new kind of metrical equipment and the proposed method, the assistant decision system for comprehensive power loss reduction of rural power network has been developed and has been tested on several rural power networks. The results show its convenience, accurate calculation and high efficiency.
