This paper exhibites species composition and distribution of marine seaweed at 10 sites of Co To and Thanh Lan islands in May 2019. The studies record 76 species of marine algae in the area, belonging to four divisions: Cyanophytes, Rhodophytes, Ochrophytes and Chlorophytes. Among them, five species are classified into Cyanophytes (comprising 6.6% of total species); thirty-four species into Rhodophytes (44.7%); twenty-one species into Ochrophytes/Phaeophytes (27.6%) and sixteen species into Chlorophytes (21.1%). The species composition of marine seaweeds in Co To and Thanh Lan shows significant differences as follows: 22 species (sites number 4 and 10) to 58 species (site number 2) and the average value is 38.7 species per site. Sørensen similarity coefficient fluctuates from 0.33 (sites number 5 and 10) to 0.84 (sites number 1 and 3) and the average value is 0.53. The current investigations show that four species of twenty-one species are collected in the littoral zone and forty-two species in the sub-littoral zone (in which there are thirteen species distributed in both littoral zone and sub-littoral zone). The algal flora in Co To and Thanh Lan is characterized by subtropics.

This paper presents results on species composition and distribution of marine algae at 6 transects of Con Co islands in May 2020. The result of studies shows that 95 species of marine algae are recorded in the study area, belonging to four divisions: Cyanophytes, Rhodophytes, Ochrophytes and Chlorophytes. Among them, five (5) species are classified into Cyanophytes (comprising 5.3% of total species); forty one (41) species into Rhodophytes (43.1%); twenty-nine (29) species into Ochrophytes/Phaeophytes (30.5%) and twenty (20) species into Chlorophytes (21.1%). The species composition of marine algae in Con Co shows significant differences as follows: 48 species (transect number I) to 72 species (transect number IV) and the average value is 60.7 species per transect. Sørensen similarity coefficient fluctuates from 0.56 (transects number I and II) to 0.81 (transects number II and IV, number III and IV) and the average value is 0.70. The current investigations show that twenty-two (22) species are distributed the littoral zone (22.9% of total species) only and thirty-seven (37) species in the sub-littoral zone only. In which there are thirty six (36) species distributed in both littoral zone and sub-littoral zone (44.8%). The algal flora in Con Co is characterized by subtropics.

This paper presents results on species composition and distribution of seaweeds at Nai lagoon, Ninh Thua province from 2013 until 2014 at 12 sites was showed that, at Nai lagoon area we was recording 43 species of marine seaweeds, they are belonging to four divisions, as: Cyanophytes, Rhodophytes, Phaeophytes and Chlorophytes. Among them, eight species are classified in Cyanophytes (comprising 18.6% of total species); eleven species in Rhodophytes (25.6%); four species in Phaeophytes (9.3%) and twenty two species in Chlorophytes (46,5%). The species composition of marine seaweeds from Thi Nai lagoon show significant differences in the species composition as follows: 8 species (side number 4, 13 and 18) to 21 (side number 10) and average value is 12.2 species per side. The number species at dry season is 40 and rainy season is 30 (there are 30 species in of boots dry and rainy seasons) Coefficient homogeneous is oscillating from 0.10 (side number 4 and 5) to 0.66 (5 and 7). The current investigations show that 39 species of 43 species were collected in the littoral zone and 35 species in sub-littoral zone (31 species are distributing in both the tide and the sub tide). Marine algal flora in Thi Nai lagoon is represented by tropical elements as defined by Cheney.

Results of four field surveys, conducted from June 2017 to June 2018 found that in the Phu Yen coastal water, a total of 103 seaweed species have been recorded, increasing the total number of seaweed species in Phu Yen province to 133 species, with 81 newly recorded species for Phu Yen geographic area. Among 103 seaweed species, 4 species belong to Cyanobacteria, 38 species belong to Rhdophytes, 24 species belong to Phaeophytes, and 37 species belong to Chlorophytes.  The number of species at surveyed sites V1 to V9 varies from 3 species/site (V3) to 83 species/site (V7) and on average 27 species/site. Sørensen’s similarity coefficient varies from 0.05 (between V3 and V7) to 0.86 (V3 and V4) and on average 0.25. 74/103 species were collected in the littoral zone, 67 species in sublittoral zone and most of them are distributed at 0-4 m water depth of subtidal zone. The marine algal flora is represented by mixing of subtropical and tropical characteristics as Cheney index was 3.

Seagrass beds in Phu Quoc are a favorable environment for seaweed development (bottom-living and epiphytic species). The surveys at 18 sites along the coastal line in Phu Quoc island showed that 69 species belonging to 4 phyla of seaweed were recorded on seagrass beds in Phu Quoc island. Among them, there are 27 species of Rhodophytes (comprising 37% of total species), 19 Chlorophytes (28%), 16 Ochrophytes (24%) and 7 Cyanobacteriophytes (11%). We identified 12 species of epiphytic algae including three species on seagrass and nine species on both seagrass and the substratum. The characteristics of substratum may play an important role for diversity and distribution of the bottom-living seaweed. For epiphytic algae on bigger size seagrass, the diversity of epiphytic species on the top of seagrass leaf is higher than on the root and other parts of leaf.

The species diversity and changes in the structural dynamics of the algal flora from the alpine lake Nesamovyte has been studied for 100 years. During the period of investigations, 234 species (245 infraspecific taxa) were revealed to cover more than 70% of the modern species composition of the studied lake. The modern biodiversity of algae is characterized by an increase in the number of widespread forms, a change from the baseline “montane” complex in comparison to the beginning of the 20th century. Nevertheless, the Nesamovyte Lake still has a unique algae composition that is typical for high-mountainous European lakes. The presence of a different complex of conventionally arctic species of algae, in particular, diatoms is discussed. Structural changes in the taxonomic composition of the algal flora of the lake as well as in the complex of the leading genera, species and their diversity are revealed. An ecological analysis of the algal species composition of the lake showed vulnerability and degradation to the ecosystem of the lake. On this basis, the issue regarding the question of protection and preservation of the algae significance and uniqueness of the flora of algae in the Nesamovyte Lake are discussed.
