Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) continues to be a devastating problem in the field of total joint arthroplasty. There are a number of surgical options to decide from and management decisions are based upon the interplay between host, pathogen, and surgeon characteristics. The goal of management is to maximize function, prevent systemic complications, and eradicate infection.
