In this paper we study the complex indicatrix associated to a complex Finsler space as an embedded CR - hypersurface of the holomorphic tangent bundle, considered in a fixed point. Following the study of CR - submanifolds of a K?hler manifold, there are investigated some properties of the complex indicatrix as a real submanifold of codimension one, using the submanifold formulae and the fundamental equations. As a result, the complex indicatrix is an extrinsic sphere of the holomorphic tangent space in each fibre of a complex Finsler bundle. Also, submersions from the complex indicatrix onto an almost Hermitian manifold and some properties that can occur on them are studied. As application, an explicit submersion onto the complex projective space is provided.

AbstractLet {f:\mathbb{C}\to X} be a transcendental holomorphic curve into a complex projective manifold X. Let L be a very ample line bundle on {X.} Let s be a very generic holomorphic section of L and D the zero divisor given by {s.} We prove that the geometric defect of D (defect of truncation 1) with respect to f is zero. We also prove that f almost misses general enough analytic subsets on X of codimension 2.

AbstractIn this note we study curves (arrangements) in the complex projective plane which can be considered as generalizations of free curves. We construct families of arrangements which are nearly free and possess interesting geometric properties. More generally, we study 3-syzygy curve arrangements and we present examples that admit unexpected curves.

Let $X$ be a normal complex projective variety, $T\subseteq X$ a subvariety of dimension $m$ (possibly $T=X$) and $a:X\rightarrow A$ a morphism to an abelian variety such that $\text{Pic}^{0}(A)$ injects into $\text{Pic}^{0}(T)$; let $L$ be a line bundle on $X$ and $\unicode[STIX]{x1D6FC}\in \text{Pic}^{0}(A)$ a general element. We introduce two new ingredients for the study of linear systems on $X$. First of all, we show the existence of a factorization of the map $a$, called the eventual map of $L$ on $T$, which controls the behavior of the linear systems $|L\otimes \unicode[STIX]{x1D6FC}|_{|T}$, asymptotically with respect to the pullbacks to the connected étale covers $X^{(d)}\rightarrow X$ induced by the $d$-th multiplication map of $A$.Second, we define the so-called continuous rank function$x\mapsto h_{a}^{0}(X_{|T},L+xM)$, where $M$ is the pullback of an ample divisor of $A$. This function extends to a continuous function of $x\in \mathbb{R}$, which is differentiable except possibly at countably many points; when $X=T$ we compute the left derivative explicitly. As an application, we give quick short proofs of a wide range of new Clifford–Severi inequalities, i.e., geographical bounds of the form $$\begin{eqnarray}\displaystyle \text{vol}_{X|T}(L)\geqslant C(m)h_{a}^{0}(X_{|T},L), & & \displaystyle \nonumber\end{eqnarray}$$ where $C(m)={\mathcal{O}}(m!)$ depends on several geometrical properties of $X$, $L$ or $a$.

In a previous paper it was shown how to associate with a Lagrangian submanifold satisfying Chen's equality in 3-dimensional complex projective space, a minimal surface in the 5-sphere with ellipse of curvature a circle. In this paper we focus on the reverse construction.
