Abstract Kaiser Aluminum alloy 2014 is one of the strongest heat-treatable alloys for screw machine applications. The alloy has good machinability and high strength. Corrosion resistance is only fair. Weldability is good with arc and resistance methods. In many applications, this alloy can be substituted for 2024. Abstract Kaiser Aluminum alloy 2011 is one of the most popular screw machine stock alloys available. Tennalum, a division of Kaiser Aluminum, produces alloy 2011 in the T3 temper as Microchip II, which offers excellent machinability and surface finish.
