The myriapod fauna of China is still poorly known and very little attention had been paid to the study of Lithobiomorpha, with only 100 species/subspecies hitherto known from the country, among which are only seven species of Hessebius. Here we are describing a new species of the genus Hessebius. A new lithobiid species, Hessebius crassifemoralis sp. nov., is described and illustrated from Hengshui Lake National Nature Reserve, Hebei Province, China. The new species is compared with H. luquensis Qiao, Qin, Ma, Su & Zhang, 2018 from Gansu Province, China. A key to Chinese species, based on adult specimens, is provided. Type specimens and other material are deposited in the School of Life Sciences, Hengshui University, Hengshui, China.

Altogether, 11 species of subgenus Monotarsobius have been recorded from China, but only two of them have been reported from Hebei Province. Herein, a new species recently discovered in the Hebei Province, China, is described and illustrated. A new lithobiids species Lithobius (Monotarsobius) tetrasulcus sp. n. is described and illustrated from Hengshui Lake National Nature Reserve, Hebei Province, China. The new species is compared with Lithobius (Monotarsobius) crassipes Koch, 1862 from Taiwan, China. It can be easily distinguished from congeners by having a longitudinal groove on the dorsal side of the femur and tibia of the male legs 14 and 15, only having a posterior spine on the dorsal side of femur of legs 12–15, lacking robust spines lying dorsally on the external margin on the second article of the female gonopods and the third article of the female gonopods having a bidentate apical claw.

A new species, Cortinarius subcaesiobrunneus was collected from Gansu Qilianshan National Nature Reserve, Gansu province, northwest China. It differs from other species in section Brunnei, subgenus Telamonia by the strong bluish tints at the stipe base, large basidiospores and at least 12 substitutions and indel positions in the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region.

The aphid genus Aulacophoroides Eastop and Hille Ris Lambers is reviewed. Aulacophoroides millettiae sp. nov. is described from Millettia sp. in Hong Kong, China. A key to the described species of Aulacophoroides is provided. The type specimens studied are deposited in the Zoological Museum, Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China and the Natural History Museum, London, U.K.

This paper reviews species of the genus Euconocephalus Karny from China, provides a key to species from China, and describes a new species, namely E. longissimus Wang & Shi sp. nov.. This new species differs from known species in the genus in the following: body comparatively large; fastigium verticis relatively long, ventral margin about 3 times as longitudinal diameter of eyes; Cu2 vein slender and long, with about 105 teeth (E. nasutus and E. pallidus with about 70 teeth); titillators symmetrical L-shaped, apical parts widened, and basal parts outcurved (E. nasutus X-shaped, flat; E. pallidus apical parts closed, and basal portions outcurved). The type specimens are deposited in the Museum of Hebei University and Faculty of Conservation Biology, Southwest Forestry University.

A new species of the genus Confusacris Yin & Li, 1987, namely i.e. Confusacris shanxiensis sp. nov. is described in this paper from Shanxi province of China. The new species is similar to Confusacris brachypterus Yin & Li, 1987 but differs from the latter by tegmen of male extending over middle of hind femur distinctly, maximum width of cubital vein area 1.5 times median vein area, furculae large, epiphallus without acute projection on both sides and length of interspace of mesosternum1.6 times minimum width in female. A key to known species of the genus Confusacris Yin & Li, 1987 is given in this paper. The type specimens are deposited in the College of Life Sciences, Hebei University, Baoding, China.

Two new species of Tonsilla Wang & Yin, 1992 are described from Jinggang Mountain National Nature Reserve, Jiangxi Province, China: T. jinggangensis K. Liu & X. Xu, sp. nov. (♀) and T. subyanlingensis K. Liu & X. Xu, sp. nov. (♂♀). The new species are illustrated, and their distributions are mapped. Detailed generic characters and an updated key to Tonsilla species are also given.

Viola huizhouensis (Violaceae), a new species from Xiangtoushan National Nature Reserve of Guangdong Province in China, is described and illustrated. The new species is most similar to V. guangzhouensis, but it can be easily distinguished by its much stouter rhizome, lack of aerial stem, dense pubescence of the basal pedicel and the whole plant. Our phylogenetic analysis, based on ITS sequences, confirms that the new species belongs to V. sect. Diffusae.

Abstract A new species of coprophagous scarabaeid, Synapsis puluongensis sp. nov., is described based on six specimens collected in Pu Luong Nature Reserve in central Vietnam. The new species can be clearly distinguished from the remaining species of Synapsis Bates, 1868 by the following characters: hypomeral cavities present but not covered by red macrosetae; mesepisternal cavities absent; elytral striae extremely strong, bearing close and strong punctures; metafemora with dense and strong punctures in ventral view. Redescription of S. horaki Zídek & Pokorný, 2010 based on new material is also presented. Key to species of the genus Synapsis from Vietnam is provided.

The complete mitochondrial genomes of three species of Haplotropidini were sequenced, annotated and analyzed. Then, combined with 18 species mitogenomes of Acridoidea and 1 species of Tridactyloidea, the phylogenetic relationships were reconstructed by maximum likelihood (ML) and Bayesian (BI) methods based on PCGs. The phylogenetic relationship tree showing that Sulcotropis Yin et Chou is a valid genus and not a synonym of Haplotropis Saussure, 1888. A new species Sulcotropis xiaowutaiensis sp. nov. is described in this paper from China, it is allied to Sulcotropis cyanipes Yin et Chou, 1979, but differs from latter by median carina of pronotum cut by posterior transverse sulcus slightly, epiphallus with middle part equal both sides in high, cercus of male gradually widened at base, interspace of mesosternum narrowed in the base slightly and subgenital plate of female oblong, hind margin with small acute angle in the middle. Type specimens are deposited in the College of Life Sciences, Hebei University, Baoding, Hebei, China.
