Despite having been first published in 1941, Carya poilanei (A.Chev.) J.-F.Leroy is only known from three collections in Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. It has not been recollected since then and was long suspected to have become extinct through repeated deforestation events. Here, we report the rediscovery, and meanwhile the first new record in China, of this extremely rare gigantic hickory species at Yunnan province 63 years after its last collection in 1958. Three small patchy subpopulations were found with a total of about 50 adult trees having diameter at breast height (DBH) larger than 60 cm, together with some seedlings and saplings, but the fruit set was low. Based on new and fresh material, we present a revised morphological description of C. poilanei, and an updated distribution map for the species. In addition, we also provide a key for the hickories in China. Lastly, we suggest C. poilanei should be listed as a Critically Endangered (CR) species according to the latest IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria.

Epipogium taiwanense, is published in the book of Illustrated Flora of Taiwan in 2018. However, here only the specimen and simply descriptions were existed on which the protologue was based. Plant and flowers characteristics were not described in enough detail in the original description. Fortunately, it was rediscovered from Yunnan and Sichuan Province, China. It is morphological similar to E. aphyllum, but it can be easily distinguished from the latter by having large size flower bract (2.0 × 1.0 cm, significantly longer than pedicel and ovary), epichile of labellum concave with 1 longitudinal ridge on mid-lobe and the spur strongly recurve in the apex connecting with bottom of mid-lobe. A preliminary risk-of-ex­tinction assessment, according to the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria, is given for the newly recorded species.

Passiflora danielii, an endemic species to Colombia, which is threatened, was rediscovered in the Department of Antioquia, where it has not been reported since 1938. The species was only known from the type locality (Municipality of Cocorná). Now, four new locations are added near it. The current study further presents a revised morphological description of P. danielii based on fresh material, along with an updated distribution map. Finally, following the IUCN Red List Criteria, P. danielii was classified as Critically Endangered (CR) species.

Eremitis limae, a new species of Parianinae (Poaceae, Bambusoideae, Olyreae) endemic to the coastal forests of Bahia, Brazil, is described and illustrated. It is morphologically similar to species of Eremitis with characteristically narrow leaves: E. linearifolia, E. parviflora, and E. riodocensis. We discuss the morphological characters distinguishing the new species from its close relatives, and we also present illustrations, photos, and a distribution map. Eremitis limae is classified as Endangered (EN) according to the IUCN Red List categories and criteria.

Ardisia sharoniae Manjato, Ravololoman.& Razakamal. and A. vohimenensis Manjato, Ravololoman. & Razakamal. (Primulaceae) are described as new species from southeastern Madagascar, the former from the Ankarabolava and Agnakatrika forests (Atsimo-Atsinanana Region) and the latter from the Vohimena range (Anosy Region). They differ from the four currently recognized Malagasy species of Ardisia Sw. by their leaves with serrate margins and their striking angulate twigs. The two new species differ from one another in several characters of their leaves, inflorescences, and fruits. An illustration and a distribution map are provided for each species. Preliminary assessments of the risk of extinction following the IUCN Red List categories and criteria indicate that both are Endangered. An identification key to the seven species of Ardisia occurring in Madagascar is presented.

Begonia nangunheensis belonging to Begonia sect. Platycentrum is described and illustrated as a new species in Caryota obtusa forests in Yunnan province of China. It is similar to Begonia siamensis in 3-winged fruits, 2-loculed ovary and axile placentation with 2 segments per locule, but differs in its glabrous petiole and abaxial leaf-blade, ovate outer tepals and oblanceolate to narrowly obovate inner tepals of staminate flower, and the unequal pistillate tepals. The new species is assigned to Critically Endangered according to the guidelines of IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria (version 13).

Cheirostylis barbata, a new species of Orchidaceae, is described and illustrated from Yunnan Province, China. It is morphological similar to C. griffthii, but it can be easily distinguished from the latter in having densely villous inflorescence, floral bracts 1.2–1.4 cm, significantly longer than ovary, lobes of lip deeply laciniate with 7–9 divisions, each lacinae randomly oriented, 6.0–7.5 mm long, hypochile containing 2 callus, each callus 4-toothed. A preliminary assessment of ex­tinction risk, according to the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria, is also provided.

Allium shahinii, a new species of Allium sect. Scorodon, is described and illustrated from Erzincan Province, Eastern Turkey. It is a narrowly distributed geophyte growing on siliceous screes of warm exposure in mountain ranges of the nemoral and thermophilous deciduous woodland zone, showing close morphological relationships mainly with A. moschatum, A. stocksianum, A. spirophyllum, A. circumflexum but it is clearly differentiated due to perigon, outer tunic, indumentum, leaf and scape characteristics. In this study, diagnostic characters, description, taxonomic comments, photographs, distribution map, detailed illustration, the conservation status of A. shahinii and identification key are provided for A. shahinii and related taxa. According to IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria, A. shahinii is assessed here as a Critically Endangered (CR) species.

Two Brassicaceae novelties are reported from Iran. Erysimum hezarense (Erysimeae) is described and illustrated as a newly discovered species. It resembles E. subulatum, E. laxiflorum and E. iraqense but can be readily distinguished by the indumentum of stem, leaves and pedicels; bicolor petals; and number of flowers on the main inflorescence. It is also separated geographically being restricted to Hezar mts. (prov. Kerman, South Iran) where none of the related species occurs. Because of the very limited distribution and high risk of its habit destruction, inclusion of E. hezarense into IUCN Red List with a status vulnerable (VU) is proposed. Besides, Rhammatophyllum gaudanense (Euclidieae) is reported from NE Iran representing the first record of the genus for the country. Contrary, the previous record of R. gaudanense from Afghanistan is considered doubtful and not confirmed. Detailed morphological description, illustration and synonymy of R. gaudanense is provided along with the key differences from the closely related taxa. Distribution maps for both E. hezarense and R. gaudanense are given.

We present a new species of Meliaceae, Cedrela ngobe Köcke, T.D.Penn. & Muellner, from Panama and Costa Rica. A detailed description with illustrations and a distribution map are provided. Based on distribution data and climatic niche modelling, the species is classified as Vulnerable according to IUCN Red List categories.
