Ebru V. Ocalir-Akunal

The progress in web based DSS technologies in recent decades has given individuals many opportunities to make their business environments and daily lives so easier that could never been imagined before. Use of traffic information systems are getting wider. In this study, a decision support system for individuals' travel alternatives between any origin and destination points in urban areas is described. The original study is derived from a project prepared for the Ankara Municipality (Turkey). The described project gave individuals opportunity to select among all travel alternatives under different criteria, both for public transport riders and car users. It is a web based DSS, which uses GIS. The Floyd-Warshall algorithm has been used to solve all-pairs shortest path problem. Static data are based on base map, addresses, point of interests, lines, stops, schedules, etc. The dynamic data are received from the online vehicle tracking system. The design of the project is given to help other researchers design their projects according to the requirements specific for their own cities.

A decision support system for flood warning has been developed for Jinan city. It is a web based distributed system that integrates GIS, databases and models. Urban Flood Simulation model is used as a real-time flood forecasting model. Mike Flood model is used to simulate pre-formulated flood scenarios for urban areas. The objective of the system is to simulate and forecast river and urban floods on the basis of real-time meteorological situation and rainfall available, and to serve as a tool for making decision.

Abstract Competition is a common thing, especially in the business world, is no exception has been experienced by Bravo Supermarket Jombang. Bravo is not the only supermarket in the town of Jombang, so that Bravo had to compete with its competitors in order Bravo to compete and remain productive. One way that can be used to increase sales and customer loyalty is to give rewards to the best customers. Therefore, it needs to be made to a design decision support system in the selection of the best customers on Bravo. In designing the system made later on a web-based method of SAW (Simple Additive weighting) as the process of calculating the best customer selection. The results of the election system design best customers at Bravo Supermarket Jombang expected to assist management in selecting the best customer Bravo who will receive rewards and will eventually be able to increase customer loyalty and profit Bravo. This study aims to design and build web-based decision support system applications used to recommend the best tourist attractions in South Sulawesi to tourists. The expected benefit of this research is to help the user get the best tourist recommendation information available in South Sulawesi based on the conditions in input factors. The theorem or method used in this study, namely the theorem Naïve Bayes. The design of the system isimplemented using PHP programming language and MYSQL database. Based on the results of the research, the authors have successfully built the application of decision support system to determine the recommendation of tourist attractions in South Sulawesi with 65% accuracy based on 20 tests conducted.

This paper presents the development of a decision support system (DSS) for flood warning and instantiation of restoration activities in two urban areas, the Liguria Region in Italy and the Greater Athens catchment in Greece, with the potential of extension to other locations with similar flooding problems. The tool is designed to work at the centre of a set of meteorological and hydrologic/hydraulic forecast models together with telemetric data acquisition networks. The study reveals the complexity and uncertainty involved in managing flooding in the study areas. Issues about the validity and extended benefits of the system are also discussed.
