SummaryMeasurements of the radial velocities and magnetic field strength of β CrB were carried out. It is shown that there is a variability with the rotation period different for various elements. The curve of the magnetic field variation measured from lines of 5 different elements: FeI, CrI, CrII, TiII, ScII and CaI has a complex shape specific for each element. This may be due to the presence of magnetic spots on the stellar surface. A comparison with the radial velocity curves suggests the presence of a least 4 spots of Ti and Cr coinciding with magnetic spots. A change of the magnetic field with optical depth is shown. The curve of the Heffvariation with the rotation period is given. A possibility of secular variations of the magnetic field is shown.

The fatigue tests on 15CrMo steel specimen were carried out and the metal magnetic memory (MMM) signals were detected. The experiment shows that the magnetic signals of specimen contain the information of stress distribution in the material inside. Furthermore, the experimental results show that the magnetic signals increase initial while then decrease slightly with the stress increase from 0kN to 200kN. Though analysis the MMM signals induced by different tensile stress within the plastic region of the specimen, a simple model was derived. The experimental results are consistent with the calculated results based on the Jiles-Atherton model.

The German solar facilities at the Obsrvatorio del Teide are described first. Then, a few examples of recent results from magnetic features are given: spatial variation and velocity fluctuation of small-scale magnetic fluxtubes in the quiet Sun, Evershed flow and magnetic field in connection with penumbral fine structure, and magnetic field variation in sunspot umbrae.

In this paper we present a theoretical model for calculation of the (positive and negative) magnetocaloric effects and magnetic properties of the Heusler Ni50Mn34In16 alloy by the classical Monte Carlo study. By the help of the proposed model the temperature dependences of the magnetization, tetragonal deformation, heat capacity, positive and negative isothermal magnetic entropy changes for magnetic field variation are obtained. All quantities are in good qualitative agreement with the available experimental data.
