The first step of the association rule mining algorithm Apriori generate a lot of candidate item sets which are not frequent item sets, and all of these item sets cost a lot of system spending. To solve this problem, this paper presents an improved algorithm based on Apriori algorithm to improve the Apriori pruning step. Using this method, the large number of useless candidate item sets can be reduced effectively and it can also reduce the times of judge whether the item sets are frequent item sets. Experimental results show that the improved algorithm has better efficiency than classic Apriori algorithm.

In the retail enterprises, it is an important problem to choose goods group through their sales record. We should consider not only the direct benefits of product, but also the benefits bring by the cross selling. On the base of the mutual promotion in cross selling, in this paper we propose a new method to generate the optimal selected model. Firstly we use Apriori algorithm to obtain the frequent item sets and analyses the association rules sets between products. And then we analyses the above results to generate the optimal products mixes and recommend relationship in cross selling. The experimental result shows the proposed method has some practical value to the decisions of cross selling.

In this work, a method is proposed to deal with secure multiparty computation (SMC) based problems. The computation is done on the grocery dataset collected from three various grocery shops. The privacy is maintained by generating the rules based on FP-Tree algorithm under Association Rule Mining (ARM). Privacy and correctness are the important requirements of SMC. In privacy requirement, the things apart from necessary are not learned. This implies that only output will be learned by the parties. Each party must receive correct output to ensure the correctness. In this work, secure auction is done using SMC and frequent item sets are computed to perform the association rule mining. The most familiar FP-growth schemes have the short fallings like former space complexity and latter time complexity. The performance of the algorithms has been enhanced by using APFT algorithm which is a combined version of FP-tree structure of FP-growth algorithm and Apriori algorithm. The conditional and sub conditional patterns are not generated continuously in APFT. The speed of the APFT is high when compared to Apriori algorithm and FP-growth.The correlated items are included by modifying APFT and noncorrelated item sets are shaped by using APFT. This modification is used for FP-tree optimization. From the frequent item set, the loosely associated items are removed by using this modification. The system implemented is clearly described and its performance is evaluated. The results confirmed that the proposed scheme is extremely effective.

Systolic tree structure is a reconfigurable architecture in Field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA) which provide performance advantages. It is used for frequent pattern mining operations. High throughput and cost effective performance are the highlights of the systolic tree based reconfigurable architecture. Frequent pattern mining algorithms are used to find frequently occurring item sets in databases. However, space and computational time requirements are very high in frequent pattern mining algorithms. In the proposed system, systolic tree based hardware mechanism is employed with Weighted Association Rule Mining (WARM) for frequent item set extraction process of the Web access logs. Weighted rule mining is to mine the items which are assigned with weights based on user’s interest and the importance of the items. In the proposed system, weights are assigned automatically to Web pages that are visited by the users. Hence, systolic tree based rule mining scheme is enhanced for WARM process, which fetches the frequently accessed Web pages with weight values. The dynamic Web page weight assignment scheme uses the page request count and span time values. The proposed system improves the weight estimation process with span time, request count and access sequence details. The user interest based page weight is used to extract the frequent item sets. The proposed system will also improve the mining efficiency on sparse patterns. The goal is to drive the mining focus to those significant relationships involving items with significant weights.

A Data mining is the method of extracting useful information from various repositories such as Relational Database, Transaction database, spatial database, Temporal and Time-series database, Data Warehouses, World Wide Web. Various functionalities of Data mining include Characterization and Discrimination, Classification and prediction, Association Rule Mining, Cluster analysis, Evolutionary analysis. Association Rule mining is one of the most important techniques of Data Mining, that aims at extracting interesting relationships within the data. In this paper we study various Association Rule mining algorithms, also compare them by using synthetic data sets, and we provide the results obtained from the experimental analysis

Currently, data gathering techniques have increased through which unstructured data creeps in, along with well defined data formats. Mining these data and bringing out useful patterns seems difficult. Various data mining algorithms were put forth for this purpose. The associated patterns generated by the association rule mining algorithms are large in number. Every ARM focuses on positive rule mining and very few literature has focussed on rare_itemsets_mining. The work aims at retrieving the rare itemsets that are of most interest to the user by utilizing various interestingness measures. Both positive and negative itemset mining would be focused in this work.
