The case of successful prenatal ultrasound diagnosis of partial atrioventricular septal defect is presented. The retrospective analysis of 4 cases of fetal defect' overdiagnosis, associated with left superior vena cava and enlarged coronary sinus, is conducted. Aspects of optimisation of the ultrasound visualization of crux of the fetal heart are discussed in order to reduction the probability of misdiagnosing.
