Excessive dryness in the nose is very common among the population. The diagnosis of rhinitis sicca anterior is established quite often. Therefore, such patients need multicomponent treatment, taking into account all possible factors. The objective of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of sesame seed oil nasal spray (Sezorin manufactured by JSC “Farmak”) in rhinitis sicca anterior among children. As a result of using this drug, we achieved a fairly rapid and sustained reduction in clinical symptoms in our patients, and it is important to note that the effect of treatment with Sezorin spray was long-lasting.

Nasa Pratinaha is one among the 31 Nasa Roga in which nasal obstruction is the main symptom. It is a commonly encountered disease in clinical practice. This disease occurs due to aggravation of Udan Vata, enveloped with Kapha, thereby causing obstruction in nose. In contemporary science this disease can be co-related with many disorders like turbinate hypertrophy, deviated nasal septum, nasal polyp, tumours, allergic rhinitis and others; among which deviated nasal septum is a common cause. Deviated Nasal Septum can be treated with surgical and medical methods. The medical and surgical managements have their own limitations, merits, and demerits like synechiae formation, rhinitis sicca, severe bleeding, septal perforation, septal heamatoma, septal abscess etc. In Ayurvedic classics the treatment for Nasa Pratinaha is Snehapana, Nasya, Dhoompana etc. The best prescribed in Nasya Pratinaha for Nasya is Bala Taila, the same oil is also recommended for Nasa Pichu. Thus, this study was carried out with the objective of to evaluate the effectiveness of Bala Taila Nasya and Nasa Pichu in the management of Deviated Nasal Septum Nasal Septum. A case report of 43-year-old female who presented with complaints of frequent nasal obstruction, nasal discharge, discomfort in nose, and headache; was diagnosed with Deviated Nasal Septum. The patient was treated with Bala Taila nasya and Nasa Pichu with the same oil. Hence Bala Taila administered as Nasya and Nasa Pichu was significant in controlling the symptoms of Nasa Pratinaha (Deviated Nasal septum) without recurrence in the follow up period.

Objectives. The safety and efficacy of ectoine nasal spray and ectoine nasal spray with dexpanthenol in the treatment of rhinitis sicca were evaluated in two studies. Design and Methods. Two noninterventional observational studies were performed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a nasal spray containing ectoine (study 1) and ectoine/dexpanthenol (study 2) over a period of two weeks including comparable numbers of patients suffering from rhinitis sicca anterior. Patients and physicians were asked to rate the efficacy in reducing symptoms and the tolerability over the treatment phase. Results. The treatment in both studies resulted in a clinical and statistical significant reduction of the main diagnosis parameters, nasal airway obstruction, and crust formation. There was also a significant reduction in the secondary diagnosis parameters in both studies. Importantly, the tolerability was very good. During the whole observational study, neither patients nor doctors stopped the medication due to unwanted effects. Conclusion. Rhinitis sicca could be successfully treated with a nasal spray containing ectoine and a nasal spray combining ectoine with dexpanthenol. The combination of both substances led to slight advantages.
