Abstract
This paper describes a simple quasi-static crack propagation technique which is conveniently used for the evaluation of fracture resistances of metals as embrittled by liquid-metals. Examples given are cast iron, zinc alloy, and alpha-brass immersed in a 0.1 molar mercurous nitrate solution. The advantages and disadvantages of the quasi-static graphical analysis are also discussed.
