The questions of how serious the extra traffic impact induced by project construction is on urban road networks and whether the construction should continue during planned special events represent a critical problem. In this paper, a framework of methodologies and workflow is presented in analyzing the project construction induced traffic impact during special events. We first analyze the characteristics of the traffic flow attracted by special events and project construction induced traffic flow. We then show how to evaluate the project construction induced traffic impact during special events and propose some quantitative analysis methods, which are different in nature from the traditional approach of traffic impact analysis. Some management and improvement strategies are subsequently proposed to mitigate the negative impact of project construction. A case study of a vertical construction during Expo 2010 in Shanghai is discussed as an application of the proposed framework. The results show that the traffic impact of this vertical construction during Expo is moderate. Through our subsequent monitoring of this vertical construction practice during Expo 2010, it can be concluded that the analysis method is reliable, the negative traffic impact of vertical construction to Expo is insignificant, and the suggested operation and management strategies are effective.

Traffic Impact Analysis (Andalalin) is an analysis of the influence of land use development on the system movement of surrounding traffic flows. It studies the method described in the 1997 MKJI concludes: 1. The revitalization of Sumbergempol People's Market is expected to attract trips of 88.9 SMP / hour and generate trips of 60.6 SMP / hour. 2. The results of the study area. The condition of the road section prior to revitalization has a V / C ratio of 0.53 with a Service Level in C. b. Predictions in 2019 have a V / C ratio of 0.57. c. Prediction in 2024 has a V / C ratio of 0.61, the performance still in category C. 3 The impact of the service level of the road section based on PM  96th. 2015 is: - The flow is stable, but vehicle movement is controlled by higher traffic volumes with speeds of at least 60 km/hour. - Medium traffic density due to internal obstacles to increased traffic. - Drivers have limitations for speed, change lanes, and overtake. 4. The market developer must provide a motorcycle parking area with a minimum area of 144.3 m2 and 1203.13 m2 for cars. 2.

The number of large scale condominium construction projects had dramatically increased in Bangkok. Many projects had occurred in either densely populated areas or in central business districts, where traffic conditions were usually highly congested. To prevent traffic problems, a traffic impact study must be prepared and submitted for review by concerned public authorities. Unit trip generation rates were important data in traffic impact analysis. Without accurate unit trip generation rates, public agencies could not obtain accurate information on the traffic that will be generated. This study aimed to study trip rates and the factors affecting them for condominium construction project in Bangkok. The data were collected from 30 condominium construction sites located in 15 districts of Bangkok. The analysis used the linear regression method and was divided into three cases: 1) trip rates for all vehicles, 2) trip rates for classified vehicles, and 3) trip rates for all types of condominium. All case analyses considered weekdays, Saturday, and Sunday. The results found that trip rates related to the number of dwellings in the condominium. The trip rates for all vehicle types on weekdays, Saturday, and Sunday were 10.636, 4.647, and 9.294 vehicles per 100 dwelling units per day respectively. The trip rates for six-wheeled and ten-wheeled trucks on weekdays, Saturday, and Sunday were 2.046, 0.975, and 0.575 vehicles per 100 dwelling units per day respectively. The trip rate for four-wheeled trucks and passenger cars on weekdays was 1.960. Regarding condominium types, the trip rate for low rise condominiums for all vehicle types on weekdays was 5.315 while the trip rates for high rise condominiums for weekdays, Saturday, and Sunday were 3.965, 2.667, and 1.261 respectively.
