AbstractThis article considers the numerical treatment of piecewise-smooth dynamical systems. Classical solutions as well as sliding modes up to codimension-2 are treated. An algorithm is presented that, in the case of non-uniqueness, selects a solution that is the formal limit solution of a regularized problem. The numerical solution of a regularized differential equation, which creates stiffness and often also high oscillations, is avoided.

This paper considers certain stochastic control problems in which control affects the criterion through the process trajectory. Special analytical methods are developed to solve such problems for certain dynamical systems forced by white noise. It is found that some control problems hitherto approachable only through laborious numerical treatment of the non-linear Bellman-Hamilton-Jacobi partial differential equation can now be solved.

AbstractThis paper is devoted to introduce a numerical treatment using the generalized Adams-Bashforth-Moulton method for some of the variable-order fractional modeling dynamics problems, such as Riccati and Logistic differential equations. The fractional derivative is described in Caputo variable-order fractional sense. The obtained numerical results of the proposed models show the simplicity and efficiency of the proposed method. Moreover, the convergence order of the method is also estimated numerically.
