Three new species of Russulasection Ingratae, found in Guizhou and Jiangsu Provinces, southern China, are proposed: R. straminella, R. subpectinatoides and R. succinea. Photographs, line drawings and detailed morphological descriptions for these species are provided with comparisons against closely-related taxa. Phylogenetic analysis of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region supported the recognition of these specimens as new species. Additionally, R. indocatillus is reported for the first time from China and morphological and phylogenetic data are provided for the Chinese specimens.

Three new species of Russula collected from southern China are proposed based on morphological characters and phylogenetic analysis of internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences. Russula bubalina sp. nov. is characterized by cinnamon buff to pink pileus with striate margin, interveined and forked lamellae, basidiospores with warty ornamentations not forming reticulum, hymenial cystidia becoming brown in sulphovanillin (SV) and slender terminal cells in suprapellis. R. pseudobubalina sp. nov. is closely related to Russula bubalina in macro-morphology, but it can be recognized by its unforked lamellae, shorter cheilocystidia, bigger basidia and basidiospores with lower ornamentations. Russula subatropurpurea sp. nov. can be recognized by the purplish brown pileus, mild-tasted and white context changing to light purplish red with FeSO4, white and forking lamellae without lamellulae, long hymenial cystidia becoming brown in SV. Both morphological and phylogenetic analysis consistently confirmed the distinct positions of three new species in subg. Heterophyllidia subsection Heterophyllinae.

Three new species of Russulaceae, Lactifluus umbonatus and Lactifluus indicus belonging to Lf. subg. Gerardii and Lactarius keralensis belonging to L. subg. Piperites, are described from Kerala State, India. Comprehensive descriptions, photographs, line drawings and comparisons with phenetically similar and phylogenetically related species are given. Nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer regions (ITS) of the three species were sequenced and analyzed. In addition, nuclear ribosomal large subunit (nLSU) gene of Lactifluus indicus was sequenced and the sequence was used in BLASTn search to find similar sequences. Maximum likelihood (ML) analysis based on the ITS sequences confirmed both the novelty of these species and their placement within their respective genera. The discovery of Lactifluus umbonatus and Lf. indicus represent the first report of novel species belonging to Lf. subg. Gerardii from India. Lactifluus indicus represents the second record of a pleurotoid Lactifluus species from India.

Three new species of Calocybella, C. lohitha, C. babruka and C. swetha are described from Kerala State, India based on morphology and molecular phylogeny. Comprehensive descriptions of these species are provided along with photo-illustrations and comparisons with phenetically similar and phylogenetically related species. Nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region of the three species were sequenced and analyzed. In addition, nuclear ribosomal large subunit (nrLSU) region of Calocybella swetha was sequenced and used in BLASTn search to find similar sequences. ITS-based phylogenetic analysis using Maximum likelihood (ML) method supported both the novelty of these species and their placement within the genus. The discovery of these three species forms the first record of Calocybella outside Europe.

Three rust fungi belonging to the genus Hyalopsora occurring on ferns were found in China. Hyalopsora minispora and H. tibetica are described as new species in this paper. Hyalopsora minispora can be distinguished from known species by its relatively small urediniospores (19.5–23.0 × 12.0–19.0 μm) with 4–6 scattered germ pores and amphispores in a common pustule. Hyalopsora tibetica is mainly characterized by urediniospores with 2–6 scattered germ pores and amphispores. Hyalopsora neocheilanthis is described and reported as a new record for China. The phylogenetic relationships of Hyalopsora species and related taxa were examined by comparing the sequences of their internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) barcode and 28S rDNA gene segments. Hyalopsora is supported with strong bootstrap support and it differs from the two other fern-infecting genera viz. Milesina and Uredinopsis.

Three new species of Entoloma belonging to the subgenus Nolanea, E. brunneoumbonatum, E. luteodiscum and E. brunneoapplanatum, are described from Kerala State, India based on morphology and molecular phylogeny. Comprehensive descriptions, photographs, and comparisons with phenetically similar and phylogenetically related species are discussed. The nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer region (ITS) of the three species was sequenced and analyzed. The ITS-based phylogenetic analysis, performed using Maximum Likelihood (ML) method, supported both the novelty of these species and their infrageneric placement within the subgenus Nolanea. A key to the ten species of Entoloma subgenus Nolanea known from India is also provided.
