In this paper, a new procedure has been introduced for optimal design of utility system in process industries. This method is based on the development of the R-curve concept by using estimation of costs, environmental impacts and exergoeconomic analysis. This new method can be applied for synthesis of site utility system in grassroot problems. In addition, the powerful and accurate cogeneration targeting method has been used. Also, the new graphical representations have been proposed. These curves are easy to be constructed simple to be understood. In this paper, optimal design of site utility has been carried out in the case study, in which the usefulness of this method is clearly demonstrated. The computer code has been provided based on new procedure to optimal design of site utility at fixed heat demand.
