The nearly complete genome sequence of a new species of potyvirus was obtained from the symptomless wild onion ( Allium sp.) in Turkey. This virus has less than 67% nucleotide sequence identities over the polyprotein to other known potyviruses. We propose the name wild onion symptomless virus for this novel potyvirus.

Here, we present the complete genome of Bacillus sp. strain IGA-FME-1 (isolated from the bulk soil of maize [ Zea mays L.]). This genome consists of 5,147,837 bp, 5,219 protein-coding genes, 112 tRNAs, thirteen 16S rRNAs, thirteen 23S rRNAs, and thirteen 5S rRNAs, with a G+C content of 38.2%.

“Candidatus Thioglobus sp.” strain NP1 is an open-ocean isolate from the SUP05 clade of Gammaproteobacteria. Whole-genome comparisons of strain NP1 to other sequenced isolates from the SUP05 clade indicate that it represents a new species of SUP05 that lacks the ability to fix inorganic carbon using the Calvin-Benson-Bassham cycle.

Spiroplasma kunkelii causes corn stunt disease of Zea mays L. in the Americas. Here, we report the nucleotide sequence of the 1,463,926-bp circular chromosome and four plasmids of strain CR2-3x. This information will facilitate studies of Spiroplasma pathogenicity and evolutionary adaptations to transkingdom parasitism in plants and insect vectors.

ABSTRACT We report here the completion of the genome sequence of a new species of haloarchaea, Haloarcula taiwanensis , isolated in southern Taiwan. The 3,721,706-bp genome consisted of chromosome I (2,966,258 bp, 63.6% GC content), chromosome II (525,233 bp, 59.6% GC content), plasmid pNYT1 (129,893 bp, 55.3% GC content), and plasmid pNYT2 (100,322 bp, 55.7% GC content).
