Despite the increasing popularity of student mobility, the outcomes of a study abroad experience are not yet fully explained. The development of Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC) is undoubtedly one of the desired results. This paper presents the intercultural profile of university mobility students to Italy as emerged from a research project on ICC as a learning outcome of study abroad. The INCA tool, suitably adapted, was used and its results analysed. The use of the QR Code to manage anonymity is also presented. The research sample consists of 96 students enrolled in Italian language courses at level B1. The data show how the ICC at the beginning of the study abroad experience is of a basic level.
