Abstract Background Patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) emphasizes patient-generated research priorities and outcomes, and engages patients throughout every stage of the research process. In the cystic fibrosis (CF) community, patients frequently provide input into research studies, but rarely are integrated onto research teams. Therefore, we developed and evaluated a virtual pilot PCOR training program to build PCOR capacity in the CF community (patients, caregivers, researchers, nonprofit stakeholders and providers). We aimed to show changes among participants’ perceived PCOR knowledge (a.k.a PCOR knowledge), confidence in engaging stakeholders, and post-training session satisfaction. Methods Guided by a prior CF community educational needs assessment, our researcher and patient-partner team co-developed a four-part virtual online training program. We structured the program towards two learner groups: patients/caregivers and researchers/providers. We evaluated participants’ PCOR knowledge, confidence in engaging stakeholders, and session satisfaction by administering 5-point Likert participant surveys. We tested for significant differences between median ratings pre- and post-training. Results A total of 28 patients/caregivers, and 31 researchers/providers participated. For both learner groups, we found the training resulted in significantly higher PCOR knowledge scores regarding “levels of engagement” (p = .008). For the patient/caregiver group, training significantly increased their PCOR knowledge about the barriers/enablers to doing PCOR (p = .017), effective PCOR team elements (p = .039), active participation (p = .012), and identifying solutions for successful PCOR teams (p = .021). For the researcher/healthcare provider group, training significantly increased participants’ ability to describe PCOR core principles (p = .016), identify patient-partners (p = .039), formulate research from patient-driven priorities (p = .039), and describe engagement in research grants (p = .006). No learner group had significant changes in their confidence score. Most participants were either “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with the training program. Conclusions Overall, our virtual pilot PCOR training program was well received by patients, caregivers, researchers and providers in the CF community. Participants significantly improved their perceived knowledge with core PCOR learning items. Trial registration Retrospectively registered at clinicaltrials.gov (NCT04999865).

Background & Aim: Self-care is one of the challenges of the health care system in patients with schizophrenia. It has been less studied due to these patients have no insight into the symptoms. This study aimed to determine the effect of cognitive-behavioral group training on self-care skills in patients with schizophrenia. Methods & Materials: This single-blind randomized controlled clinical trial (blinding of data analysts) was performed on 50 hospitalized schizophrenia patients by convenience sampling method and random block allocation to the intervention (n=26) and control (n=24) groups in Ebn-Sina Psychiatric Hospital of Mashhad, Iran from late July 2020 to mid-January 2021. The intervention group received cognitive-behavioral group training of self-care skills based on Kashani Lotfabadi et al. (2020) protocol in 10 sessions (two sessions per week). The control group was placed on a waiting list. Data collection tools included the Self-Care Requisites Scale (SCRS-H) and the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS). The data were analyzed by SPSS 25 version, repeated measures of ANOVA test. Results: 60 % (n=30) of participants were female, and 40% (n=20) were male with a mean age of 32.98±8.35 years. The results of repeated measures of ANOVA indicated a significant difference between the intervention and control groups in terms of descending mean score of total self-care during the test stages (p=0.001). Conclusion: Cognitive-behavioral group training of self-care skills could promote self-care behaviors in patients with schizophrenia. Therefore, we suggest using this intervention to strengthen self-care skills in patients with schizophrenia.

This review presents the problems that arise when learning Tamil and the solutions for it, which is our mother tongue, and which has been a virgin language for a long time. Solutions to problems in learning can be found through oral training and error free writing training. Oral training should be given through different and  flexible exercises. The speech of the linguist should be an example to eliminate the shortcomings of unedited speech. The difference in the duration of the writing of the characters and the place of birth of a word should be clearly stated through individual training and group training. Writing training plays an important role in providing error & free writing training. Being able to write without error is made possible by clear pronunciation, oral reading, relaxed writing, checking what is written, knowing the rules of grammar etc.

Abstract   COVID-19 pandemic caused structure reorganization in rehabilitation. Nowadays telerehabilitation is the best method due to close-out and readjustment of clinics. There is a need to search and develop alternative rehabilitation models in the conditions of COVID-19 pandemic. Aim Developing and introducing an alternative rehabilitation model for the patients after acute coronary syndrome in the conditions of COVID-19 pandemic. Methods An alternative rehabilitation model was developed for the patients after acute coronary syndrome in the condition of COVID-19 pandemic. 70 patients after the acute coronary syndrome who were hospitalized into the cardiology center went thought our rehabilitation model. The 1st stage of the rehabilitation is conducted during in-patient treatment. Before the discharge from the hospital, the patient gets evaluated his/her clinical state, physical activity level, evaluation of his/her psychological state, risk stratification with noting in a developed by us patient's individual self-check diary. The individual diary includes: ID data, pharmaceutical treatment, recommendations on physical activity with a possibility to note daily data on angina and dyspnea attacks, their number, need in medications, heart rate, blood pressure, distance walked during a day, evaluation in points according to the Borg scale, HADS and SAQ questionnaires. The 2nd stage is conducted using telerehabilitation methods: phone call, group training on the ZOOM platform, and individual consulting. At this stage we used the components of rehabilitation: – group training in breathing exercises and using relaxation techniques, are conducted 2 times/week during 3 months after discharge, then 1 time/week up to 6th month or on patient's request individually – group training using an author's method of psychological rehabilitation while optimizing internal health picture, is conducted 2 times/week during 3 months after discharge, then 1 time/week up to 6th month or on patient's request individually Control of the patient's state and indices (according to data from the patient's individual diary) is conducted after 1, 6 months, and a year. Results We established that our alternative rehabilitation method contributed to the improvement of clinical and functional capabilities of the patients, decrease of depression and anxiety, improved quality of life, attitude towards the disease and health. Conclusion The COVID-19 pandemic changed our life and health care for the patients. But a time-lag in conducting and using rehabilitation in patients with cardiovascular diseases causes complications and progression of the disease. Using alternative rehabilitation methods will grant providing timely and complex medical care, improving clinical, physical, and psychological indices that will contribute to increased adherence to rehabilitation and treatment in conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic. Introduction: Due to the important role of the mothers in the families, identifying their early maladaptive schema can help us identify the problems that lead to unhealthy life education and provide the necessary and appropriate training programs to improve them. This study uses group training to reform schema in improving mothers' individual and social mental health who consulted the social damage prevention center. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of reforming schema on a mothers' problems. Methods: In this study, the quasi-experimental method was used. The study population was all the mothers who had parenting problems in the last two years and have consulted the social damage prevention center.  Nonrandom sampling was used for our statistical census. Therefore, 100 mothers at hand were selected nonrandomly, and the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) was conducted on them as a pre-test. Then, 24 mothers who obtained the lowest scores were randomly divided into two groups: experimental and control, in each of which there were 12 participants. The experimental group received training in 10 sections for 90 minutes, while the control group did not receive any training. Afterward, a post-test was conducted for each group, and the results of the two groups were compared. Results:  A covariance analysis test was used to test the hyper hypotheses. The results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in the individual's mental health and social mental health variables (p < 0.001). Thus, hypotheses 1 and 2 were approved in our study. In other words, the comparison of the average in two variables after the post-test of experimental and control groups showed that mothers trained according to reforming schem, had better social and mental health. With approximately 90%, it can be said that the training based on reforming schema effectively increases the social and individual health of the mothers challenging with parenting problems.

Introduction: Deficits in social skills can be an important modulating factor in the development and progress of various mental disorders. However, limited resources in inpatient care often impede effective social skills training. This study investigates the feasibility of a blended group training for social skills (SST) in an inpatient psychiatric setting. Methods and Analysis: For this one-group pretest–posttest trial, inpatients with a diagnosed mental disorder were recruited. Participation in the blended SST lasted four weeks and took place within usual inpatient psychiatric care. The blended intervention comprised four face-to-face group sessions and three complementary online modules within four weeks. Assessments took place before (t1) and after (t2) the training. Feasibility outcomes (use, acceptance, satisfaction, implementability into usual psychiatric inpatient care) and effectiveness outcomes regarding social skills were assessed. Results: N = 15 participants were recruited. Most patients completed all questionnaires (93%) and all modules of the blended SST concept (60%). All participants (100%) would recommend the blended intervention to a friend. Regarding social skills, exploratory analyses revealed a non-significant medium-sized effect (Cohen’s d = 0.5 95%CI 0.3 to 1.25, p = 0.08). Discussion: This trial shows that a blended care SST is feasible for the use in acute psychiatric inpatient care setting. Although the wards were acute, with high turnover and change of inpatients, 60% of participants were treated per protocol over four weeks. Overall, the evidence on blended care concepts in psychiatric care settings is extremely poor to date. Hence, this trial should encourage intensified blended inpatient psychiatric care research.
